I'm not saying Dak is better than Mahomes

It was the perfect game for Dak to 'put the team in his back' for one drive. That's all it would have taken.
Dak was part of the s-show. Not a victim of it.
Can you guys even read? You're the 2nd maroon to skip right over the very first sentence and lay into the Dak emotions. Like clockwork.

Mahomes arm strength and accuracy are far better than Prescott's and most QB's in strength except Allen and Rodgers in accuracy.

If anyone would take Prescott over Mahomes, Rodgers, Brady, Allen, Burrow, Herbert or Wilson, I would question their criteria for evaluating QB's.

Over the other QB's? Yeah, I can make a case for that.
If a top 10 QB, or better according to your list, isn't winning championships than maybe it's an actual team sport?

Also, how do you define accuracy? Completion percentage, Rating and TDs?

When you've got an owner and his son that has their own radio spots, always preaching "how bout them Cowboys", always hyping the team up every offseason, always out there in the media any chance they get......

Ya kinda set yourself up to be the butt of the jokes when you've done nothing meaningful but have the owners, fans, and some players run their mouths for the past 26 years and not back it up.

They pile on because Jerry has made the Dallas Cowboys more of a soap opera then a football team at this point. That's just the way he's always wanted it. Mission accomplished.

The Cowboys have ALWAYS been THE glamour team—overhyped and larger than life. Glitz and glamour—They bring the ratings. Always have, since BEFORE Jerry Jones showed up. Too much hype and praise is embarrassing, and I understand the resentment (I get tired of all the nonstop Lebron talk,
too), especially since they haven’t won a lot of playoff games in the last 26 years. But you sound like you resent them, like an ABD.

I read it and I understood it. You then went on to excuse him with the 'too much to overcome' BS. You also previously mocked the 'put the game on his back' sentiment by relating it to overall passing yards. My comment stands.

You're getting killed in this thread.

What is ABD?

I said Prescott could have played better. This isn't hard. Understood it? And putting his shortcomings aside, it WAS a lot to overcome and if you ignore that, that's on you. Name me another QB in a playoff game who scored all the TDs, over 300 yards passing and was sacked 5 times, hit 14 with an enormous pressure percentage and had a dozen penalties that killed drives. Those aren't simply excuses, that happened. Along with a Tony Romo ending. Should I make my Dak hatred personal, will that be enough?

A cute catchphrase such as "put the team on his back" deserves a mocking because it's ignorant and cliche.

Again, my point is you can't even criticize Prescott enough for some people.

Everyone.

We cannot allow this delusion to prosper. Do not encourage it, but instead be firm and honest.

This is not healthy for anyone.
Fans are allowed to be famished and or head over heels for heir favorite teams or players .

It’s up to us to recognize and look the other way.

Surely you’re not that guy who’s going to tell kids that their guy isn’t a hero?

You have a weird inferiority complex working here, where apparently everyone is out to get the Cowboys - the league, the media, etc.

If you don’t think there’s resentment over the hype Dallas gets you’re either blind or in denial. If you think they don’t milk the Cowboys for rating$, you’re delusional. If you don’t notice an over abundance of “odd occurrences”—excessive game altering penalties right after a play in our favor, or the infamous 8 game stretch where opponents didn’t receive a SINGLE holding penalty—I don’t know what to tell you.

If someone thinks Dak is greater than Mahomes they should be allowed to express their opinion.

This is afterall a Cowboys fan forum not Chiefs.

And others should be free to mock a person making that comparison.

Since when does being a fan of a player have to be totally based on facts ?

The kid even said it doesn’t mean he thinks Dak is better . Give him a break.

I am sure there is resentment. But it’s largely meaningless. It has zero effect on things that actually matter for the Cowboys. No, there isn’t some conspiracy out there where the league is out to screw us on purpose with biased refs.

It’s just stuff to get people like you all riled up.

Resent the team? Nah

Resent the ownership and how they seem to value money over success? Yes

Yes. You were critical of Dak, then gave him a pass by blaming everything else. The point that is going over your head is that this was THE perfect game for Dak to step up (put the team on his back) and make a couple plays on one single drive to overcome everything that was going wrong. It was very possible. He didn't need to lead a big comeback. He just needed to make a couple big time plays and lead the team to ONE more TD. If you would get your emotions in check and let go of some of that 'hater hate' you might not be so biased in your understanding of what you're reading.

Point 1: Mahomes played in 73 games, Dak only 56 and Dak still has him beat in 400 yard games.

Point 2: Mahomes has a god-like receiving unit. Dak has a very good receiving unit but it doesn't compare to Mahomes'. Kelce + Hill > by far anyone we got. Cowboys are receivers by committee. Chiefs have a receiving unit that have been proven unstoppable by 31 teams.

Point 3: Wins are a team accomplishment, so Mahomes didn't win those games on his own.

Again, Mahomes > Dak overall because of his Super Bowl and his postseason accomplishments, but lots of his games are simply because Chiefs are good enough to jump ahead and beat teams without Mahomes needing to do much. Cowboys has a bad defense most of the times, 0 dominant D-linemen, a used up starting running back, and an O-Line that blew the SF playoff game badly. Mahomes O-Line was horrendous in the Super Bowl, but at least they chose the last game of the year to be bad in.

Thoughts?
