But Jones acknowledged Cooper had his issues and that Lamb has the makings of more a complete No. 1 receiver in “production, in the huddle and off the field.”

He’s a better #1 because he’s an upgrade off the field…? What does that even mean? Amari was a boy scout.

Something definitely happened last season that soured the team on Amari. Maybe it was the reported outbursts at Dak. Maybe the team asked him to take a pay cut. But CeeDee is a preferable option because he’s not making 20m$ a year, not because he’s proven to be superior on the football field. To outright say you prefer him over Amari implies there’s something more going on there.

He recognized and vocalized Daks deficiencies, and thats a major no no in Big D.

He crossed Darth Jerry and so was expelled from the order for a fifth round pick. That’ll teach him.

Him missing a game due to a virus didn’t help endear Jerry to him. I just have a feeling his departure is going to come back to bite us.

Or maybe it was because he had 180yds total after the catch? And for your information that was dead last among all receivers with 800+ receiving. Take the Dak obsession to the “other” thread please.
Your obsession and fixation leads to denial of the obvious.
Coops just a level headed pros pro, and just looking out for the best interests of his career.

It probably will bite us. Doesn’t mean it’s not the right move. They know what the issue is. If you hear Michael Irvin talk on Amari you can pretty much hear how this team feels about him. He’s telling you guys. I wouldn’t have cut him but I respect them for doing it.

That, and the fact that he always was fighting some kind of injury, particularly lower body. I give him credit for playing through them, but it limited his production and kept him from being worth the investment the team made in him.

When was the last time you heard/read Coop's name in the same sentence with charity as a Dallas Cowboy? ( 2018 ) I noticed this few months ago......what interesting it's first thing he did AFTER the trade to the Browns. Not sure many fans noticed but leadership and/or community involvement is highly expected from their highly paid players.

I guessing ( heard/read ) Coop was all about Coop....beating to his own drum.

I don't understand all the worry about Cooper. Is he a good WR yes. Do we still have a very talented WR group, yes. If we can't win with this WR group, look at the QB. Two Years ago, it was Coop #1, Gallup #2, Rookie CD #3, Wilson #4, Brown #5. This year, it will be CD#1, Gallup #2, Rookie JT#3, Washington #4, Brown #5. Really not a lot of difference there guys. Amari will be least missed FA that left more than likely. RG, CW, LC are all bigger losses and they weren't big losses either.

I'm guessing the off the field comment means when literally not on the field, and Amari not being a team player on the side lines, in the locker room and else where that he complained and mumbled to others about what ever his problem with the team was about for that week.
He does the same thing every place he goes, gives a few good years then get disgruntled for one reason or another and becomes a team distraction, it will happen again.

Whatever happened - it didn’t begin last season. Going into last season there was already talk that Dallas wasn’t going to retain Cooper. So whatever it is, it’s been a thing for a while.

Any move that comes back to bite you isn’t a good move.

what can he say-Cooper is a better #1 and I just blew it by getting nothing for him?
If CeeDee is better as he's suggesting they would have switched them last year. CeeDee did play #1 when Coop was out and couldnt do the job. Hopefully he gets better
