Yeah, we have the most overpaid pass blocking FB in the league. Be proud, very proud.
....then let him go.....this team and fan base loves finding a scapegoat. Play Pollard.......all fan talk so far.....lets see this year!

You can easily compare pollard to Zeke. Hes better, much better. Its plain as day.

Randle looked NOTHING like Pollard.

yeah no way Randle was in the same conversation as TP. TP can be a lead back but you can’t overwork him and still get all the explosive. He’s a great cog in a two back system but no doubt that balance should be more in his favor vs Zekes…it’s not close. In fact, Zeke needs replaced.

Why are you so offended by this video? LOL He has a star on his helmet doesnt he?

They are called RUNNING back for a reason. Zeke can play FB, just give the ball to Pollard when you want to score points.

How many fans watch a great tape of a RB and then say "Duh where's the pass blocking tape"? :lmao2::lmao::lmao:

Only a Zeke apologist. Are you even a fan of the Cowboys or just a Zeke fan?
I guess we are paying 90 million to an overhyped FB since pass blocking seems to be Zeke's only saving grace anymore

Nearly all RB’s aren’t as good in a bell cow role once their first contract is up including Zeke.

It’s just dumb to do what we did with Zeke. The guy could barely move last year and they hurt the team by not playing Pollard more.

That is a weakness in his game
No doubt.

It’s not a weakness. He’s just average at it.

Zeke’s blocking didn’t translate to anything for us either. The league is all about explosive plays and having one of our biggest playmakers on the sideline for a guy that is anti-big play is just stupid.

Look at the Saints game last year. Look how Pollards big play changed the outcome.

I wouldnt give Pollard a full load. I would run him 15 times a game and pass to him 5 times. 20 touches sounds about right. Probably a 50/50 split with another talented back that could carry the load if needed. Then have a 3rd guy and use him in spells for the other 2.

Oh,don't get me wrong
I would prefer Pollard over zeke because of his superior homerun ability.

Pollard is in the same mold of Joseph Randle and Felix Jones. His rushing average is jacked up due to an occasional long run. He has too many carries under 4 yards and he has too many negative carries to be a feature back. Plus he’s not a good enough blocker. The role he has fits him.

Problem is when he’s not hitting home runs he doesn’t get many base hits. He has too many no gains and negative carries. Pollard is a good player that fits his role as a change of pace back. He can make plays between the tackles but he doesn’t make enough of them. He doesn’t move the chains enough when tough yards are needed.

Watching highlights of a player can be very misleading. Pollard has some nice highlight runs but he also has plenty of no gains and negative carries. A couple of years ago in Philly in a critical late season game he took a loss on the third and one. Everyone on the board was trashing him after the game. He’s had issues as a returner making poor decisions when to come out of the end zone. He’s a good player but fans would turn against him real quick if we had to see him for 20+ carries a game. Granted he’s very quick and shifty but is in the same mold as Joseph Randle and Felix Jones. None were consistent down after down. If they couldn’t pop a big run it was a tough go.

Yeah I would agree with that but I’m not sure Zeke is the right “other back” in a 2 part system. Unless he comes back from injury tons better than he played last season….

I heard they lined him up in the slot yesterday.

Pollard was drafted to be a gadget motion RB/WR. The initial question was whether he could play as a straight up RB at all. Once we found out that was true, the gadget plays disappeared, along with his use as a WR.

Pollard is the fastest player on the offense now. Might have even been last year, as Cooper looked like he lost a step. But did we send him deep even once? I don't remember him being thrown a single deep ball last year.

Pretty sure that Zeke has more deep targets than Pollard.

How about getting a real OC that knows how to adjust and use them both.
Moore was great the 1st 6 games or so, then as Dak and the OL was injured, as well as Zeke, and even Pollard with his heel. Moore refused to adjust.

We will see if they get back to that 1st 6 game style when the season starts. Pollard needs to be used more in the passing game as well. He is quick and shifty, and can make the slower defenses miss.
Unless Zeke gets some of his quickness and speed back to hit the outside. Then the OL will really need to step up. Again, Moore needs to call the right plays. He seemed to be on fire, then he fizzled as to his game plans. Like DC's poured water all over his game plans.

I will wait to see how they all look before coming to any conclusions.

One of the things that bugged me last year was our tendency to run Elliott inside and Pollard outside. We were practically telegraphing it before Moore finally switched it up some and we actually saw that Elliott can get the edge and Pollard can fight his way to the middle. Neither player is going to make his living not playing to their strengths, but you can't just limit the types of runs they do and expect them to stay effective. You've got to run Pollard between the tackles some and Elliott to the outside some.

Hopefully, Moore has learned that lesson as well as figuring out that he needs to get them both on the field together more. If he hasn't then I'm hoping McCarthy's increased role in the offense will include that. I have trouble believing anyone could feel that having a second tight end on the field is better than having Pollard out there or even a third receiver. It maybe have been different in that regard when we thought we were going to have one of the best trios of receivers with Coop, Lamb and Gallup, but there really shouldn't be any doubt now that Pollard and Elliott are both in our top 11 offensive players. Get your best on the field as much as possible.
