Kellen Moore has his moments when he is a very good play caller but unfortunately he tends to lean too heavily on the passing attack and abandons the ground game too quickly. If McCarthy were allowed to do his job he could help Kellen Moore stay truer to a balanced attack but it seems pretty obvious Jerry has stript McCarthy from the power to do that.

From what I saw, it seems the Moore blame game really picked up because people were deflecting Kurt Warner's criticism of Dak. During his breakdowns, he pointed to a couple plays that he thought could be designed better. But he spent the majority of those breakdowns showing the bad reads, the late throws, and the missed windows.

I remember being surprised at all the criticism Moore was getting on those threads and even had to point out that every play he criticized for design issues resulted in a completed pass, some even for first down yardage. Nevermind his statements like, "I see Dak [throw into zone coverage] all the time," and literally stating multiple times that Dak is holding and patting the ball when he should have released it already.

But you can't criticize Dak without being called a hater or having one of his fanboys strawman what you said. Pointing to any failures on his part means you're, "blaming him for the loss," or some other type of deflection.

For Moore it was that Simms video showing 4 guys going 7 yards and just turning around. He kept going over that same play over and over again.

The Dak and Warner criticism was nit picking over one game I believe. Dak even admitted at some point that he should be taking what the defense gives him underneath and stop forcing it down the field.

Anyone can take any QB in any game and go over 5 or 6 plays where he made a bad read or thew a few bad passes. You can create any narrative you want.

Bias against CW...doubtful.

Bias against the Cowboys...?

The Cowboys were the most penalized team on both offense and defense.

That was not a problem for McCarthy in Green Bay or Quinn in Atlanta.

Other than the Raiders with Al Davis, it is rare for a team to be the most penalized on both offense and defense.

Bias against the Cowboys is equally as ridiculous. The Cowboys team is just penalty happy. Oline and Dline mostly. Which have been our two biggest weaknesses the last 4 years have they not?

People have complained about the comebacks for years because they don't understand the game. Every team in the league runs those routes and if Dallas does it more than others it's likely due to the comfort zone of the players and QB.

Warner covered 2 games, Arizona and SF. His videos were both 30+ minutes and pretty damning. Yes, all QBs miss windows and make bad reads. But it wasn't forcing the ball downfield that hurt him in those games, it was not anticipating windows and holding the ball too long.

LOL.............Arizone and SF, Dak and the offense two worst games of the year. I rest my case!!

Why didnt he cover the Bucs game or the New England game?

Holding the ball too long? Exactly, not getting rid of it sooner underneath.

You'd have to ask him. My guess is because of the playoffs.

No, not throwing it to the open guys downfield until the windows were closed. Nothing to do with not getting to the checkdown.

Yep and why didnt he cover the Bucs and New England games? I could cherry pick games for any QB in the NFL where they missed some throws or windows and make them look bad.

And despite all the horror that Warner pointed out who led the NFL in yardage offense and scoring points?

So Dak obviously knows about anticipating throws, hitting windows and getting the ball out. Oh yah, he also broke the Cowboys all time TD passing record in one season at 37.

Again- he covered playoff games and games with playoff implications near the end of the season. Ask him why he didn't cover those games, not me.

As far as, "cherry picking," goes, the problem is those were big games with playoff implications. It's not like he just decided to pick his worst games. If he would've played better then I'm sure you would applaud the breakdown showing him perform well.

And despite all the horror that Warner pointed out who led the NFL in yardage offense and scoring points?

Stats are for losers.

Are you saying he purposefully tanked those games? Why would he not anticipate and hit those windows when the games count?

That's a joke, btw. Just giving you a hard time because you're doing exactly what I said his fanboys do. He had bad games. It was pointed out how he struggled in those games. Now you feel the need to defend him against things that weren't said.

Here's another thing Warner said in an interview he did on local radio- Dak is best when Kellen, "makes things easy for him." Spin that one.

He is an investor. Not full on owner

From PFF.com:

Cris Collinsworth is the owner and chairman of Pro Football Focus, an award-winning NBC broadcaster and former NFL player.

Wikipedia says he purchased majority control from the guy in the UK who started it, and he moved its operations to his home near Cincinnati. That sounds like way more than just an investor

KM has bloated stats against a weak ** NFC East. When we played playoff or close to playoff teams as the season dragged on we really crapped the bed. Denver laid the blueprint and we never adjusted.

He was also asked about how Cover 2 or Cover 4 affects the playbook because we all saw zone coverage befuddle Dak. His response was it should open it up.

The really funny thing is many of Dak's fanboys will tell you Marinelli sucked as a defensive coordinator. What did Marinelli do? Rushed 4 and played zone behind it- the exact thing that seems to have shut down our potent offense in the second half of the season.

I think tiers is probably more appropriate for coordinators. Far too many variables outside of the coordinators' control for a strict ranking.

I do think Moore is a good OC but I also think he has to do better with in game adjustments. I don't put much stock into rankings pro or con I do think Moore is much better than many here are willing to admit but again he has to do a better job or adjusting through out a game and on the season.
To be fair game adjustments are the head coaches job first. He's the Captain of the ship. This is not a love letter to Moore. Though I'll admit he's better than I expected.

I'm no Moore defender but it's tough to evaluate play calling when the QB can, and often does, change the play at the LOS.

We pass too much in general, but when you can gain yardage via pass and are stuffed via run, what are you to do?

Kellen hasn't figured that part out just yet, but he is learning on the job, and he still has Jerry to advise him of what may be going wrong. We are good.
Yeah, I’ve wondered for quite some time—how often does Dak audible out?

you mean stats make people like you look that way?

Guys like you don’t like the stats that make them look foolish.

Like I said, cherry pickers have an agenda. Just like you do. Cherry picking is for losers.:thumbup:

Hilarious to watch you hang onto this agenda driven Warner evaluation like it’s gospel.
Well you should like this one. Here is Warner explaining how dak is one of the best clutch 4th quarter QBs.

Enjoy! Some stats make some people look like losers right?

Teams don't interview candidates for HC that had poor performances as assistant coaches...

Very few Head Coaches are hired at his age (33).

Sean McVay was the youngest at 30, but he had 9 years coaching experience vs 4 for Moore.

They were not interviewing him to fulfill the Rooney rule requirements...

Fans claim Moore, Dak, Zeke and the OL all sucked.

The offense led the league in points scored and yards.

If Moore sucked then the players must have been great...

Zeke and the Oline sucked in the 2nd half of the season after injuries and in the playoff game. Which lead to inconsistencies with Dak and the offense as a whole. More failed to use Pollard properly and failed to bench Zeke when he was hurt. He also failed to adjust to the 2 deep zone once the Oline went in the toilet.

All of them deserve criticism, some more then others.

ah...ok, thanks for the info. I remember a few years back there was an article that he was interested in pff. I thought he became and investor, wasn't aware he bought the whole thing.
