Yeah I'd much rather have Awuzie than fan favourite Brown. Awuzie probably means we don't draft problem child Joseph. Awuzie, Diggs, Lewis, Hooker and Kearse sounds like a top 5 secondary to me.

No we would not have Lewis & Chido . In other words from a $$ perspective you get either Brown & Lewis or Awizie by himself since he commanded the most $ of the three . The Cowboy GM or the son whoever made the right call .

I doubt Quinn wanted Chido. He was only an outside CB with Cowboys and doesn't have the required length that Quinn prefers. His arm length is only 30 5/8 and Quinn wants outiside guys with 32 inch arms.

Had Cincinnati held on and won the Super Bowl Chido could have been named MVP. Five solo tackles and a pick.

Not saying I agree with it, but I couldn't help but notice that you talked about INTS and tackles and conveniently left out that Awuzie gave up 500 less receiving yards than Diggs.
I left it out because both Awuzie and Diggs could be in different coverage packages when giving up passing yards. Plus, anyone knows how going after INTs also sets you up to get burned (give up) at times. Regardless, just going by the eye test, Trevon Diggs IS BETTER than Chidobe Awuzie (that's because I used to like Awuzie and never agreed with letting him go to free agency).

Over Qb Joe ? Doubt it

Burrow was solid but didn’t have a great game. He only tossed one TD and was sacked 7 times. Had Cincinnati won it would’ve been because of their defense. Chido was their best defender in that game in my opinion.

Yards mean nothing, the stats i want to see for the CB;s are the true game winners

First Downs given up
Touch Downs given up
Interceptions
And Pick- Sixes

Those are the things that help teams win games.
IE CB A gives up
5 catches 40 yards 1 TD

CB B gives up
7 catches 80 yards 1 TD

Just going by Yards and catches it would appear as if CB B played worse then CB A

but deep dive and suddenly you find, CB A gave up 4 first downs to each of those catches and then the 1 TD, while CB B gave up 1 55 yard TD, and the other 6 catches did not end up as a single first down.

So who was better? CB A with the less yards and catches? or CB B who gave up more catches and yards, but less first downs?

Didn't someone's rankings have Diggs at the middle of the pack, a year ago, because they felt he gave up too many big plays ?
Was that PFF last year during the season in 2021 ..?
He did give up the most yards of any CB
And most of those yards were early in the season
But by the end of the season he has to be in the top 2-3 and the only reason not number one is simply a small sample size

Stats are one of those things that’s sometimes misleading. But td’s are really important with Turnovers and first downs. Yards can be. Rey misleading, especially over a game or two

Real difficult to compare CB unless you watch a lot of tape... one also has to take into consideration what kind of coverage they are in and what the criteria is.

Take Diggs - a lot of times he might have help over the top which allows him to cheat underneath, where they might put say a Howard or a Lattimore on a island.

He's one article from Next Gen Stats that will blow some minds...

Nice to see Anthony Brown getting some credit though.

Obviously to be taken with a grain of salt but Lindy's 2022 Preview has Awuzie rated higher than Diggs.
What say you?

Diggs gives up the big play but say he matches Awuzi's INT total (2), we would have a few more L's to our record. Diggs has the chance to be really special if he cleans up parts of his game.

Part of the reason Diggs got so many picks is he's peaking back at the QB. Keeping the WR in his peripheral. He baits a QB that way too. That's the main reason WRs get away from him if the QB is given some time to throw.

That one play against the Patriots was not on him. He was playing underneath with safety help over the top. He had good coverage. Mac Jones threw it perfectly and our safety blew it.

The comparison is comical. Chido is being paid roughly 7M a year. Diggs will be 3 times that at least. There's a reason for that.

Because Diggs in on a rookie contract and Chido was paid as a FA. That is the reason.

I'm glad for Awuzie,.. i've always thought he was a better player than Anthony Brown, although he had the same issue as Brown in not
getting his head turned around to locate and play the ball,.It's just not as bad with Chido as ti was with AB.,imo..

Seems like he's been schemed up in Cincy, to where he is not as in a press at line, turn and go downfield position as he constantly
was under the previous DC's and DB coaches here in Dallas.

Maybe Cincy is having him playing off line, cushion coverage to where he's always has the WR in front of him, and where
he can play off the line, drive forward to make play on the thrown ball. Plays best ball that way.

He still would not be my ideal preference as a No.2 CB opposite Diggs, ..but somehow they've managed to make it work with
Awuzie, Eli Apple, etc. in Cincy, much to where Mahomes could not take advantage.
