Man, I didn't expect him to go for a lot, but a 5th in 2024 is terrible lol.
Was Seattle offering a starbucks gift card?

Going to be interesting to see how Mayfield responds if he loses the competition to Darnold. Neither one of them are going to be happy as a backup. Carolina will be looking to trade one of them after this season.

Is there something going on with Mayfield that we don't know about?

The Browns sold their souls for a QB with massive off-field problems who might not play at all this year, then gave Mayfield away for a song.

This doesn't add up.

Then again, maybe the Browns just want to be the old Browns again.

a 5th rd pick? and has 5 mill on his deal. Panthers got a good deal

Mayfield is terrible. They will waste a 5th round pick and a figuring that out. At minimum. Could be longer if they are dumb about it.

What doesnt add up about it?

-Mayfield sucks
-They are completely desperate after not having a QB for 20 years or more

For those of you that forgot how tough it is to find a top 10 QB

Then again, maybe the Browns just want to be the old Browns again.

He played with a torn labrum much of last season, not his throwing shoulder but none the less painful to play through. I'm not sure Mayfield would have played for them regardless if he stayed or not,

Baker has been kinda a head case since college, Talent has been there but even in college moments could get the best of him...he just doesnt have the head it takes to lead an NFL team, now saying that you find the right guy to set him straight and maybe you got something. My problem would be this Cleveland thing probably didnt help his mind issue.

It all adds up. Mayfield has been up and down his entire career and has had some injury issues. His leadership has also been in question. The Browns came to the realization that he’s not the answer and made the big move for Watson. They’ve been searching for a great player at the position since Bernie Kosar. The only way to get Mayfield and his contract off their hands was to trade him for cheap. He’s so disgruntled there’s no way they could bring him back.

They also laid off 5M of his salary to CAR. And his being vocal probably accelerated his departure.

SEA can just look at what they've got since they're in the toughest division and the next draft is a much better QB draft. Mayfield wants to get paid and I would bet it's a hell of a lot more than he's really worth.

I do know one thing about Mayfield and it showed in his personality at OU, there were no tears shed in Lubbock when he left. I think he has some Jay Cutler in him.....without the arm.

so the cowboys backup options if dak goes are cooper rush and Grier ?
I like cooper and have see Grier play at WV , but it still is a risky back up situation.

Baker has been a gun slinger alway looking for the deep ball and by passing easier throws under neither . Personally I think he has the talent and now he has a chance to start anew with a new coaching staff. I don't pretend to know how this will turn out but looking forward to seeing it play out
