I'll never understand the Randy Gregory phenomenon.

I think Dorance Armstrong is a JAG and he could probably replace Gregory's production.
The great pumpkin syndrome. Exists all over this organization.

Actually I agree, especially based on last season. Except I say Armstrong is a bit above a JAG (based on last season).
His 1st few years I thought he was just another mid round wasted DE pick they all seemed to force a pick there. But with a bit more upside.

I think they panicked and overpaid him after Gregory signed with Denver. But he is what we have along with Fowler and Sam Williams. So I will be pulling that he really is worth it.

Think about that. These morons actually had the same value on Randy Gregory than they did Von Miller.

Again nothiing sums up Jerry and Stephen Jones more than the Gregory saga. They thought Gregory was so important they were going to give him $70 million. When he bounced, apparently it was only Gregory they valued, not actually having a competent DE opposite Lawrence. That explains how they went from Gregory and his $70 million to Fowler at $3 million.

It shows that the Jones' are more driven by rewarding their own (which in part is a reflection of their belief they are awesome drafters) than actually fixing a position. If they were willing to spend $70 million on Gregory at DE, then by any sane logic, they knew they needed help at DE so why not plow some of that money slotted to Gregory into a legitimate edge player?

Nope, they went bargain bin.

Getting a head coach with the exact same resume of success as the one we have now is the answer.

Yeah I do not understand this logic ....... Not to mention the convenient timing of the Saints win.

And remember, there were some other options out there at DE as well including Smith, another FA DE more productive than Gregory. ZaDarius Smith got a cheaper contract than Gregory and yet was more productive. He was coming off injury that likely made him a bit cheaper but in the two years before that, he had 26 total sacks. Gregory has like 17 sacks in his entire career.

Neighbor played in a legends game (flag) with him during the off-season, at A&M. Said he liked Dallas, but couldn't pass up the offer he received.

Money talks, and maybe he'd have taken less in Dallas, but not much less. Business.

I call BS. Hindsight talk is all it is.
But this will get all the usuals and their same canned posts.

Wait until he flames out, then it will be a smart move by our FO.

Willful ignorance on display here.

What he really meant to say was

“BUFFALO offered me 6 years, up to $120 million. I would’ve signed in Dallas for 6 years and up to $119.5 million.”

He wasn't expecting the Bills to money whip him with a $20 million aav contract and $18.5 million guaranteed when he told them that either.

If Cowboys offered 5 years 70 mill I think is a fair offer when talking about a DE who is currently 33 years old, he will not play out the contract to begin with. Buffalo offer was stupid 6 year, $120,000,000 and if he is playing great for 3 years you will be lucky. I like Von Miller but I would not pay an older players that much, this is a young man game

The Cowboys don't build off the last season. Jesus Christ could be an FA and they wouldn't pay him. Build through the draft and plug holes through cheap free agency. It doesn't matter if the Cowboys were 13-3 or 3-13. The same SOP is used. Better luck next year.

So what did they scratch out Randy’s name in red crayon and pencil in Von Millers name and expect him to just sign that contract?

Rowdy (Spaulding) stole the crayons to create new art work at the stadium.

We are in the business to make money not win games. Giving Greg and Von similar deals is an insult and lazy by the FO. If only we had an actual GM and mgmt structure on this team.

It’s really tough bringing in these high profile talents into our toxic atmosphere and dysfunctional organization under puppets coaching.

It’s better to bring them in from college so they don’t know how a normal franchise operates .
