Christian McCaffery is amazing when healthy. But based on lack of availability the last two years, I think he probably belongs at the top.
Maybe he stays healthy this year, but going to have to prove it first.

As for Dak, the video had 4 opinions.
  • 1 said way overrated,
  • 1 said kind of overrated,
  • 1 said properly rated or even underrated,
  • 1 said underrated.

Just the whole gambit of opinions, as usual

I don't think the director liked his comment about the required Cowboys chatter that Canty mentioned. He probably asked him if there was a Cowboy on the list before that bit. If not, get one. Preferably, the most over discussed player. maybe in NFL broadcast history.

Jeez, his slump got more coverage than Brady and Rodgers combined.

I am sick of seeing and hearing about him, both here and there. Is there no limit to the depth of this rut?

What happened to McCaffery is exactly what the major concern was with him coming in, as it was for Murray.

He’s had some injury issues, yes. He plays 1 more game in 2020 and 2021 and suddenly he has 3 consecutive years of 400 passing attempts.

A down 2021 does not mean his entire career is now a wash. In 2020 he had 26 TDs to 9 picks. 67 QBR. 99 passer rating. That is not a “third string QB”

And the odds are his completions would have lowered. Look, 64% completion would be impressive in the early 00s - but we are talking about a league right now where QBs are throwing the ball 500 to 600+ times a year - Tom Brady last season threw the ball 700+ times with 67.5% completion. When you compare how he played the past two seasons, he compares to Daniel Jones as a passer more than he does a top 10 QB. In 2020 he was right there with Andy Dalton, Nick Foles, and Nick Mullens with similar pass attempts and completion %. That isn't the company you want to be in.

But I won't just pick on Lamar Jackson here with that, Josh Allen is another QB that needs to get more accurate, for all the splash plays he makes he is off the mark too often and that was a knock with him coming out of college.

Idk why people pay attention to anything coming from a morning show. They are for entertainment purposes only if you value what they have to say, then I feel sorry for you.

LMAO, Chris Canty's induction into the Authority HOF just because he thinks Prescott is overrated.

To show how great he is when playing....even with 2 injury-riddled years he has produced 6600 yards in 5 seasons.
And he has played with awful Olines.

But if he has another year in 2022 like the last two, it's safe to say he becomes a footnote.

I'm betting he has about 1700 total yards this year. Just a guess.

I like watching him play, he has one speed. He really bulked up from his Stanford days but that isn't going to help with ankles.

He’s not Tom Brady so he’s Daniel Jones?

Matt Stafford was at 64 each of the two years before he went to LAR. That’s recent football. Josh Allen was 63 last year and has only been over 64 once in his 4 years. Russell Wilson has been 64.x or lower for 60% of his career. I don’t agree you can simply look at that stat and say all those guys are more like Daniel Jones than top 10 QBs.

You cannot define a QB by 1 isolated stat. A QB is everything amalgamated. Some are more accurate but fail at other things like Kurt Cousins. Some are not particularly accurate, but make up for it like Josh Allen. Like Lamar Jackson. You don’t have to be Tom Brady to make it work.

Does anyone else not find it laughable he brings up post season success then brings up Lamar, Carr, and Cousins?

Am I missing something?
Yes.
Classic Double standard.

Jackson has been mostly awful in the playoffs. Something like 4 total TDs and 7 or 8 turnovers. Like a 60 passer rating, etc. Vad

Since going to the Vikings, Cousin's stats are the most similar to Dak's during the regular and post-season.
In the playoffs, both have not been terrible, but not great either.

If he's going to bring up anything on Dak it should be how he plays vs the better pass defesnes.
That (though not always..see New England game) is a fairly strong predictor of how he'll play

What's laughable is Dak, Lamar, Cousins, and Carrs postseason success.
Well yeah that to. lol

What I am saying is it makes no sense to lump that into an argument. Because that argument makes the entire premise moot.

Also like Riddick said. Its a TEAM game. I dont know why the media, writers and everyone else lumps QBs in as poor playoff performers when they arent the only ones on the field. Look at the Rams game. Dak had a poor game but he also wasnt on the field much because the Rams ran for 200 yards before half with CJ freaking Anderson lol. And Zeke's 47 yards didn't help either. Its not an excuse by any means but its the big picture. Wins and losses are a team statistic. Not just the QB's. I hate that W/L is attributed to QBs. I think its ridiculous.

Even the posters here that bring up Dak's W/L numbers as an argument forget that there were 10 other players on the offense and 11 other guys on the defense it seems.
