So why even have an arbitrator if Goodell can just say, "nah, I don't like that" and do what he wants anyway? Wasn't this supposed to be a change from how they did this before? Sounds like it's the same but with a middle man now.
I want to be an arbitrator how much do they get paid?

It sets a precedence for the future and the Player's Union is going to hit this hard next negotiation.

Not that I am supporting, or against what they do.
Interesting to watch though.

They have tested the public outcry waters and found 6 games decidedly lacking.

He’s so handsome and woke.
Just because a bunch of sports shows are crying about it doesnt mean there is public outcry. Go to Browns practice and look at all the little kiddies wanting pics and autographs from Watson. I just heard Mike Vick invited him over for a barbecue.

I am still waiting on Robert Krafts suspension for doing exactly the same thing.
or how bout the Houston Texan's punishment? Didnt they just settle THIRTY cases with woman over this Watson case? Thats more than Watson settled with... yet weve heard not one word about what or if they will get any punishment.

As he should. I detest Goodell because he uses his power personally. Protects his buddies. But the owners gave it to him so that's how it is.
and Kraft got zip. I think he got a free massage coupon actually.

Which means the NFLPA will go find a friendly judge, get an injunction, and this will continue on with Watson playing in September.
Incorrect..... he will likely be playing in Sept, but he wont get a friendly judge.

How bout those Browns. Amari Cooper is going to love it there. By the way, Cooper layed out on the field today saying he hurt his ankle.

My guess is at the last CBA this is the only way the league would agree to an arbitrator. The players wanted it out of Goodell's hands. The league agreed with the caveat that they could appeal to Roger after all is said and done. My guess, as a result of this, at the next CBA players will want the arbitrators findings to be final. IM pretty sure that is the case in MLB.

This has to be intriguing you to no end.
I dig it.

I'm certainly paying a focused lens on the details of all of these proceedings, as they are.

League sources and legal experts predict. I, blue collar worker that drinks too much say otherwise. I don't believe the league appeals. Let's see who's right.

All those little kiddies are directed by the old little kiddies who are trying to target the heart strings.
For themselves, or for collectibles.

Some great negotiating there:

NFLPA: "We want Roger out of the punishment business. Have all discipline matters go to an arbitrator."
NFL: "Okay, but once the arbitration is over, Roger gets to be part of the punishment business."
NFLPA: "Deal, suckers!"
NFL: :facepalm::thumbup:

And the NFLPA will lose.

No way he plays the start of the season. Browns wouldn't start him with negative backlash going on.
Yes he will. Just like Brady and Zeke the NFLPA will get injunctions. In the end he will lose but this will be a story all season long. Then the NFLPA will bring in the double standards for the owners. A mess!!!!!
