Rush looked better last year in a real game. Not sure what it was last night but rush looked bad. Could have been the lack of talent, conservative play calling, just bad rush. But the notch coming in gave the offense a little gunslinger moxy is what this offense needed last night. They will need more of that style all year especially if Dak goes down.

Babe Laufenburg likes Grier and I trust his judgement...... He was the first guy talking about Tony Romo a year before he started.

I thought the Nooch was pretty good last night, definitely has no fear in slinging it around. Much much better than his prior two preseason seasons. Rush was horrible. I’m thinking it should be Nooch and Grier backing up Dak.

I haven’t heard any talk about DiNucci during camp. It’s been all Will Grier and Cooper Rush.
Will Grier will win the backup job . He outplayed all of the backups in the training camp . If it was not for the Minnesota win , rush would have been gone . He has not improved and is slow .
DeNucci throwing motion and decision making make him hard to take seriously . He is a backyard flag football /junior college material . Another strange MCCarthy acquisition as he has a connection to DeNucci . the bottom line , dallas has only Grier as a project . Jerry again did not give Dak any competition at a critical position . There plenty this off season and still think mayfield or garropolo could have been acquired affordably . Now we have to rely on a dinky Dak who is becoming more and more prone to injuries and performance swings .

DiNucci's decision making has improved. He avoided rush, threw it away to live another down, scrambled for a first down, got down at the end of a run so we wouldn't need to engage the emergency QB, throws were mostly on target, pump fake to move the safety, was aware when refs should have let the play continue after they flubbed and blew the whistle on a defensive offsides, managed game clock, got everyone involved, and turned penalties into first downs while managing a long drive. all good stuff. Now, there were two throws he should not have made, but more reps will help.

All that said, I agree with a previous post that said one more year of seasoning would be good, as his growth continues. He hasn't peaked yet, which is a good thing. Unlike Cooper Rush, who has peaked.

So you think out backups are better than garropolo or baker ? You are funny . LOL

Mayfield's 2022 salary is $18M (guaranteed) and Garropolo's is $24M ( not sure if it's guaranteed) but if he's "acquired" him as you suggest, you taking his contract. You wanna pay this kind of $$$$$$ for a backup QB?

Yet, I'm funny for NOT taking your post "serious"

Yeah he reminded me a lot of early Romo.
Romo never ever had Nooch’s crazy delivery though. DiNucci is totally side arm all the time, don’t think I have ever seen him with an over the shoulder throw. That being said I thought he was much more in control last night. I like the kid and it seems that his teammates do as well.

This is not complicated.

Nooch has an NFL arm. Maybe he'll eventually develop, no idea.

Rush does not have an NFL arm. It is no more complicated than that. Only reason Rush is on a roster is due to very poor evaluation skills by our GM.

I don't know why people are claiming Nooch was so bad last nite. He showed some signs of being a viable NFL backup last nite.

Rush went 1-0 last year. He was exactly what we needed from a backup.

I’m not burying him just because he looked like crap while surrounded by crap.

That INT was awful though.

They like Rush.

it goes a long way with mgmt.

He looked better than the other 2 in passing drills when they were throwing at targets (nets with very small openings).

Very accurate and big arm. He nailed the target from a drop back and while throwing on the run.
