Let’s be honest about the defense

Without Parsons 2 red zone sacks this team would have given up 31 points. When you don’t get 2-3 turnovers a game, the shine starts to come off.

Admittedly part was because the offense kept putting them back on the field, but it wasn’t a phenomenal performance for the D either outside of Micah.

Given how little support they got from the offense I give the defense credit for only allowing 19 points to Brady, no matter how they did it.

Been saying this for a while. Defense is still not good. Any team that needs to run against us, will run. If they need to pass, they will pass. TB knew based on our offense it wasn't going to take much to win, so they did what they needed to do. Even with Micah, without a crazy number of turnovers we're a middle to below average defense. There is simply less talent on defense than a good NFL team. We are as bad as Jerry and Stephen at overestimating the talent of our guys.

Awful take. They kept this a two score game to the bitter end. Fournette was gashing them because they couldn't stay off the field.

I actually like the defense. Tom Brady is so good at getting the ball out. When they play someone who holds it for .5 seconds longer it's gonna be even better.

Defense needs a quality rotation of DTs. I like Osa, but that's it. Other DTs constantly get moved. This has been an issue since Jimmy left.

The fact that Dallas entered the redzone zero times means TB had great field position all night. Yet Dallas still held them to 5 field goal attempts and 1 TD. That is a very impressive peformance. If Dallas offense kept it close they’d be getting way more praise

It was always going to be tough to replicate the sheer volume of turnovers we had in 2021. It just was.

Turnovers covered some of our biggest flaws - we still aren't a great run stopping team when a team wants to power run us. The interior OL isn't good enough. We also, outside of Parsons and the occassional Lawrence rush - aren't a very good pass rush team. How'd our big FA edge acquisition play tonight - Dante Fowler?

This is a defense that has to generate turnovers to be successful. Or hope that Parsons just goes completely ape**** and destroys game plans for 60 minutes.

I keep hearing how much we've improved at DT, but I never see it. And Tank is an average DE with a guaranteed salary and a 26M cap hit next year. We have quite a hole to dig out of, because we like our guys and overpay for them.

Yah, the run game issues arent fixed. We are already missing Gregory. Armstrong is a JAG. Our pass rush in worse without Gregory.

Just when I start to think Brown is a bit underrated, he goes out and has a game like tonight where he just looks blah. He's just too inconsistent.
