[Reality]

I am going to create an official CZ Poll for who the Cowboys should get to play quarterback this season until Dak returns.

Before I do that, I wanted to get opinions from everyone on who to include.

I already plan to add ..

The only rule is it must be a player who 1) is a free agent, 2) is on another team's practice squad, or 3) is currently on another team but is considered a backup quarterback, not the starter so a trade is at least possible.

The QBs you’ve included are the only ones you need because they’ve been with the team and know the system. Unfortunately our best chance is with them. Trading for a QB or bringing one in that’s available doesn’t make a lot of sense in my opinion. Once they arrive they have to learn the system and it’s going to take a least two weeks to get them ready plus they won’t be very familiar with the receivers. Back in 2015 when we lost Romo we tried Brandon Weeden and Kellen Moore then traded for Matt Cassel.

He didn’t work out and you could argue Cassel was the worst of the bunch. Once you set sail you have to go with the QBs that you prepared to play. We’ll likely play musical chairs at QB like we did in 2015. We’ll start with Rush and if he doesn’t play well we’ll probably try Will Grier. We may even give Ben DiNucci another try. This is the boat we’re stuck in.

He’s got to be better than our current choices, and you know he’d bring leadership and have respect in the locker room…
Main issue I guess would be does he want to come out of retirement?
