Pelissero: Gallup not expected to be active

They’re just afraid of the chemistry that lies between Rush and Gallup. He’ll magically be active when Dak comes back so Dak doesn’t lose his job (which is already partially on it’s way to being lost).
I wouldn't put it past them to have that mindset

They don’t want a Godwin situation. He has been out since the 2nd quarter of game 1

But wasn't WR Chris Godwin's recent injury (hamstring) actually a different injury than one he was recovering from (ACL) ..?

No Gallup, no Schultz - pretty much Lamb/Brown and a bunch of rookie/unproven WRs/TEs that the Giants defense won't respect. Good luck to Cooper Rush :omg:

Why waste the roster spot? Once again, these guys do not know how to manage players. He should’ve went to the IR and a guy like Brandon smith should’ve been able to play.

Instead they don’t IR him and he misses 3-4 games

It’s always the same thing. They see what they want to see, never the unpleasant reality of what is. It’s always ‘a few weeks’ even when it’s a season ending injury.

They sell hope and so they operate accordingly.

We'll see. I hope he's wrong. I don't know if I've ever seen a Cowboys WR better at nine routes.

Bob Hayes?

Tony Hill?

Alvin Harper?

Rocket Ismail?

Terrell Owens?

But I agree, Gallup is money on the "go" route.

But I think the guy who threw up the X was pretty darn special running the fly as well.

Yep. It's all part of the strategy to sell something that isn't as bad as reality. So when they sat on their thumbs at WR in the offseason, including when Washington went down, in order to push back on the warranted criticism, they sell Gallup as being ready to go by Week 2-3. That was never reality but that doesn't matter to Jerry and Stephen. They have to sell something to cover up their mistake.

And b the time Gallup does come back, most people will just be happy he's back forgetting that Jerry and Stephen screwed the roster over with their silliness.

So no Dak, No Schultz, No Gallup, No Tyron. SMH injuries stink
At least these injuries are at the start of the season and not the end. They will be back and hopefully we keep the major injuries behind us.

Also injuries sometimes players take advantage of opportunities like this. Look at Tyler Smith.

Hopefully Jake Ferguson can make some plays and gains more time even when Schultz comes back.

I'd rather see Gallup be 100% for the big games. Lamb & Noah can handle these tiny Gnats!

Gally may not be 100% for any games this entire year .

ACL injuries can be tricky and everyone does not respond, heal as fast and strong as others.
it may actually take him a year to play it to trying to regain previous form.

100 likes Stash. 26 years later and hope while not a plan, unfortunately sells to the masses.

Agree with you.

But that is what is maddening to me. So he likely gets his 10-15 snaps next week. Might as well just let him rest and heal up and be ready to go Week 5!
NO because on IR he wouldn't have been able to practice with the team at all until after week 4..its a ramp up period after that,

he will NOW hit the ground running full speed and ready when he comes back, no 10-15 snaps that why hes not on IR same with dak.

BTW i expected him to pay tonight as he participated FULLY in every practice but we shall see.

I was afraid of that. Almost as much as I was afraid he'd re-injure his knee or pull a hammy first game back.

Find it hard to believe he was definitely playing (on a snap count) to not being active. I suspect a setback of some kind.

Typical Cowboys. Even when late last week they were saying that he was active in practice, would likely play, etc. I knew better than to believe that.

Don't be surprised, despite all the bullspit you hear this week, that he doesn't actually play in a game for another 2-3 weeks.

And when looking at Dak, apply the Gallup timeline to him. Dak ain't coming back for at least a month. Maybe, maybe he'll be ready by the Eagles. Maybe.
wouldn't be surprised towards gametime we hear he had a set-back because McCarthy gave him too much work this week
