Memo to Dak......play to win games, not look like you think a $40M QB suppose to look. As long as we are winning the rest will take care of itself.
Trent Dilfer once made an interesting statement about winning the Super Bowl with the Ravens......as he put it, he was smart enough to know his defense was one of the best in the league. His job was to play smart, not lose games.

At least he’s self aware. Appreciate the fact that this dude is as cold as he is. No funny business. No celebrations. No games. No names. Just goes out there, slings it, and sits back down after owning the opponents defense. What a beast.

Let’s give credit to MM as well, that and maybe the gap between Dak and he’s backups ain’t that much.
Having a winning record w/o your franchise QB ain’t normal.

this is what ive been saying....Dak went down in 2020 and we had the 35th ranked defense and were a game away from making the playoffs

we lose dak this year and we've gone 3-1

i dont bring up Garrett but Garrett would honestly be 0-4 and we'd be losing by double digits

I knew our offense wasn’t going to be as good this year but ranked 25th. Kudos to Rush. He’s come thru for us big time but not sure this offense is sustainable once we go up against the more prolific offenses who can score.

Nice point Greg but hopefully now that Gallup is back it will add a little more spark to the Offense. If the offense can get to the average maybe 15-18 range it will make them an even tougher out.

Well according to Dak's winning percentage and record as a starter.... it shows that he played to win alot of games. Its not my opinion, its results and mathematics.

I guess he got the memo coming out of college.

The Patriots did it for over a decade.. Matt Cassell went 11-5 in 2008. Garafolo and Brissett went 3-1 for them. The Cowboys went 4-0 with Beurelein in '91. They went 6-3 with Garrett over a 5 year span. Matt Flynn went 4-1 for the Packers in 2013.. Steve Young won 9 of his 10 starts when Montana was hurt for the 49ers in '88 and '89. Winning with the backup might not be "normal" but it's not completely unprecedented. By the way, Tom Brady was the backup in 2001... so HE went 11-4 as a backup.. Just as Kurt Warner was the backup in 1999 and Dak was technically the backup in 2016.

so what you're saying is that we have the next Warner/Brady....

Is there a way we can tag this and revisit after the next two games?

You are talking about acouple of cases in the past 30 years, also some of those backups are HoFamers which we all can agree that Rush ain’t gonna be one.

That was my entire point…

Six is a lot more than a couple.. and those six were just off the top of my head.. My guess is there have been others that just didn't occur to me. My point is that good teams and good coaches can keep winning with a backup.. Generally in doing so they pare down the game plan a bit and play to the backup's strengths. Moore and McCarthy have done that with Rush.. and for that they deserve some praise.

The defense and the over all team depth is putting them in the win column. This is a good team. The front office did an outstanding job in putting this team and coaching staff together. It is an exciting time to be a cowboy fan.

We have beaten last years AFC champs so far If Daks thumb is not 100% healed he should not play and test him hard in practice to make sure he can pass like does on a healthy good day
