I'm not sure Jerry wants Dak to come back against a tough team and set him up for failure.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Jerry hopes we lose to the Rams and Eagles so Dak can come back to a 3-3 franchise and avoid the whole QB controversy with the shine off Cooper riding a 2 game losing streak.

This is 100% the hope.

Jerry cares more about protecting his investment than winning games.

Who besides Jerry thought Dak would be able to play in 3 or even 4 weeks? They should have put him on IR and opened a roster spot at least temporarily. It would have given them some flexibility for 4 weeks. Maybe they could have kept their 5th round draft pick, John Ridgeway.

Actually no. Because when Dak can start practicing, he can do so right away. Put him on IR, then he can't practice for at least 4 weeks.
Also what would that roster spot do, be inactive every game most likely.

This was the correct move.
It was the same for Gallup, active roster or miss 4 games before he could practice. We seen the results with Gallup.

Agree.
Plus if anything having Prescott on the sidelines is a hinderence as he won't be helping Rush with his input/feedback (more likely to be hurting and confusing him with poor reads) and he isn't playing so him just being there could be annoying the other guys laying their body on the line.

Guess that “as I see it today” settles who decides which player starts at QB and most likely every other position.

Maybe Jerry has Dak use his repaired thumb to flip a coin to decide. Then Jerry can say, see Dak's thumb is just fine.
Then...
The coin said wait one more week, Cooper won the toss.
Or.. The coin went in Dak's favor, he won the toss. He is ready, look at that flip of the coin in slow motion.

JWB for everyone!

Who wouldn’t have taken 3-3 after Dak went down in week 1?

I think quite a few had us at 3-3 even with Dak.
I had us at 4-2. But with how good the Eagles look. Yeah, 3-3 is not bad. As our schedule on paper, looked to get easier. Though the Lions may be tougher than 1st thought.
and we are at GB.

Dak just needs to focus on keeping Rush's water nice a cold on the sidelines.
