Because he’s objective and that play should have been reviewed, and there’s a strong chance it gets overturned.

New York did review it. They review all turnovers

I found that odd. I saw no angle that showed the ball touching the ground.

I thought it was nance more than Tony but they seemed to dwell on it

All turnovers are reviewed in the booth so it did get a second look.

That's a cop out because there wouldn't be a need for someone to go "under the hood" if the booth can just make the call.

The process is pretty-well defined. The booth initiates the review and the on-field judge makes the determination. If we're going to allow the booth to just make the determination (and do you want that?), then get rid of the time-wasting review that occurs on the field. At that point, we're stopping the game all for show.

That was a play that deserved further review. Anyone who says it wasn't is lying to themselves.

Blame the owners and competition committee. The refs are told to be extra safe with the QBs.
