News: We are the 4th most penalized team through 7 games

Honestly, I'm surprised, expected to be in the middle of the pack.
Of course, we were 1st last season, so we are seeing improvement BUT not nearly enough. Three penalties, false starts, offensive holding, and offside are killing us. In context, the Eagles are near the bottom. We gotta clean this up......don't know how but MM better figure it out.

Penalties have decreased big time since last season. You have to wonder about why we get called for penalties but other teams don’t get called for holding against us. The Cowboys have to get better with offsides penalties. That is mental not physical. Fowler I am talking about you.

I wouldn't call an improvement of four spots "big time". I mean yea they've improved but not nearly as much as we are going need for any real post-season success.

To be fair, the difference between 4th and 15th is like 7 penalties. Really need to clean up the false starts and it would make a huge difference, that seems to be our kryptonite.

It feels like so many are just stupid ones too - so many on 3rd down that gives the other teams a first down and keeps our D on the field when they got the stop if not for the penalty. We must give 3-5 first downs every game to the other team because of stupid penalties. Those are going to be costly in the big games and playoffs. It would be nice if a guy who has been in the league as long as Fowler would stop going offsides - and he always picks 3rd down to do that.

The Cowboys have not lost a game because of penalties like the game against the Raiders last season. Tyler is not the holding machine that every talking head said he would be. Some of the penalties the Cowboys have been called for the most is the roughing the passer call. The last four called on us where questionable at best.

What about the Parsons taunting, Diggs taking off his helmut, Fowler jumping offsides again and again, lol ? I hate the way they protect QBs, but its the rule- players know it, fans know it. So its pretty dumb to keep doing it and expecting it to not be called. Thats the one type of penalty the refs never miss.

I said in a different thread fix this and fix run D this is at least a NFC front runner. I dont know that we can compete with the Bills and cheifs but any given sunday

Exactly, MM doesn't seem to care about those, not sure why. If he did, they'd get cleaned up. Very good point - coaching should take care of that stuff.

when our guy failed to go all in on blocking that punt the first thing I thought was “ he knows the refs will throw a flag if he just grazes his jersey”…..players can’t move naturally anymore

No they can't, might explain a lot of injuries too. Its not real football- not the football I grew up with. Can you imagine those guys from the 70s - they'd be penalized every play, lol.
