Eagles own Saints 1st rd pick

You don't go out and get all of the talent that Roseman has gotten and then start over with a rookie QB after Hurts has gone 8-0. They are absolutely going to resign him unless the wheels fall off in an almost unprecedented way this season. Letting a QB walk who has led his team to an 8-0 start just isn't how the NFL works despite what all of the armchair GM's try and say about Dak's contract. The only reason you guys are touting this idea so hard is so you can have some sort of "told ya so" moment that you think will validate your anti-Dak narratives. When you have a good QB you sign them, you don't roll the dice on a pick. There have been far more first round busts (that the Eagles are all too familiar with) than there have been first round successes in the past decade at QB.

This, they are not doing the rookie thing, we would like for them too because that would be foolish.

I have a hard time thinking they will go QB unless they do it with their later 1st rd pick or maybe even later. I think they will continue to beef up the trenches with rookies and then building the offense around his skillset.

Have you watched any football this season? The Cowboys are 6-2 and have a dominating defense. Might be the best defense in the league.

We have more talent on our roster than most teams in the NFL. Our FO has done a good job.

No I haven’t watched any football this season. Especially not the game where Philly beat the tar out of us.

LOL. The Eagles are absolutely going to sign Hurts to a big QB deal after this season, there's no way they draft a high round QB. And we have ample cap space, especially once Zeke is off the books. I know that doesn't help your narrative but don't just make stuff up out of thin air.
Then they won’t dominate the division. Hurts is average.

They will also have their 1 and 3 picks from this year healthy next year and Kelce has been grooming their #2 pick, a Center.

The wheels would have to come off Hurts for them to go QB in the 1st. He will most likely address the trenches because that is East ball.

One thing Roseman noticed that I am not sure the Cowboys picked up on. The division is improving rapidly, and its like Will Robers noted, they can get run over standing on the right track.

The difference between roseman and stephen is roseman goes all in in an attempt to win a SB. Stephen does not typically do this and while the going all in strategy doesn't always work not going all in doesn't work either. To win it all and continue to to compete stephen has to do a better job amassing talent and then cutting guys who aren't contributing according to salary. The cooper trade was stupid. But getting rid of collins was good, trying to match denvers dollars for randy was dumb but allowing him to finally walk and then using that money to re-sign armstrong and sign fowlers was fantastic. Keeping schultz for 1 last year as a safety blanket was good move, not trading him before the deadline was bad but someone will sign him and we'll get a 4th or 5th round comp pick that is good.

You mean the game where we were down by 3 in the 4th quarter playing on the road with our backup QB.

Too many Zoners were in bed crying at halftime and didn't see that we outplayed the Eagles in the 2nd half.

Currently holding the 6th pick in the first round right now with the Saints sitting at 3-6. With the team they've assembled right now this could definitely be a case of the rich getting richer in our division.
Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll draft fool's gold.

Plus are the Eagles just going to decide to keep drafting QBs every few years and then trading them away if their contract value gets too high? Because a team constantly trading away winning QBs, just to avoid paying them. Isn't the way to build a consistent playoff or Super Bowl contending franchise. Since they could be letting a good winning QB go, to risk drafting one which isn't as good or which causes the team to decline and stops the momentum they have been building up.

And even if the Eagles got lucky to trade Hurts and draft an elite Mahomes like QB. They would still end up having to pay him more than they would have to pay Hurts. As a franchise constantly letting go of winning QBs and drafting ones every few seasons, isn't a realistic way to build a playoff contending team.

Honestly the eagles worshipping around here is just a bit much sometimes. So what they got a first round pick. They are one injury away from stinking again and thats AJ brown. That is the one addition thats made a huge impact. We are still better we are still younger and there are opportunities to continue to improve

If they are smart (do have some smart people running things) they would do this.

Acknowledging a rival team's smart moves is hardly worship.

Its not just this thread and Im sorry if you feel like I was targeting this thread specifically. I wasnt even though this is the one i responded in. Its the overall vibe i get from this forum about the eagles. Im just not impressed just yet. Theyve improved but i think they are the 3rd or 4th best team in NFC and there is at least 2 maybe more in AFC that are better. Theyll come down to earth
