If not desperate at least we are WR curious. Otherwise, why try to trade for one?
I think you’re right in terms of the fans and mediots. So many believe losing cooper was the end of the world.

I don’t think the cowboys FO feel so desperate and frankly I don’t think OBJ moves the needle much

KM needs to scheme better

They tried to trade for Jerry Jeudy and Brandin Cooks.
Now, they're currently writing love letters to OBJ.
Seems a bit desperate.
It's only natural to recall that they dumped Cooper in a
spectacularly idiotic fashion.

Seems like it

The OBJ talk might be all talk.

Remember when the Cowboys tried to trade for Earl Thomas before his final season in Seattle?

At some point afterwards the local Dallas area sports talk media said the Cowboys were never really going to give Seattle a 3rd round pick. The Cowboys were just fishing to see if Seattle would give him away for a late round pick.

OBJ not a trade but the Cowboys might only be interested if the salary is very low.

Since OBJ is not with another team, Jerry is not restricted from discussing him. Jerry with an open mic and no restrictions....The media could bait Jerry by mentioning Suh or any big name unsigned player...

They aren’t desperate if they really wanted a WR they’d get 1
Jerry has money what the cowboys want to do is get a good WR without paying much which tells me they aren’t desperate

Because the FO correctly recognizes that once the playoffs start, the lack of #1 talent at the WR position will become apparent. We don’t need a true #1 receiver to win a wildcard spot necessarily, but it will matter later on.

And yet they've courted 3 WRs in the past two weeks.

"Tried"

Stephen Jones has tried to sign dozens of players by offering minimum wage and has tried to trade for dozens of players by offering to swap a 6th for the other team's 7th plus the player. Raiders took him up on the offer with Hankins...

Houston area media guy says the Cowboys wanted Houston to pay all of Cooks 2023 salary...

That's a better way to explain
Nowhere remotely near "desperate" for a WR, but curious enough to not be looking.

We would like to upgrade our depth if the right scenario presents itself.

Right. "Fair offers", I'm sure.
My comment was in response to whether they seem desperate. Not contracts.

If they were desperate one of those deals would have happened...

If they would've agreed to take on Cooks contract, they'd be burned at the stake
by media and fans, figuratively speaking, of course.

I'm guessing that factored into things.
