First and foremost, Kellen Moore called a wonderful game and had a great game plan Sunday.

I cannot stress enough how well Dak played. He played the way a lot of us here have begged him to play. He played within his limits and did not try and do too much. He took what the defense gave him and took shots when they presented themselves instead of trying to force them to materialize. This is the version of Dak that, if we get each week, would be our best path to success.

The running game was the main focus as it should have been and should continue to be going forward. Zeke played well on his limited carries while Pollard showed that he can still be RB1. Pollard is the best playmaker we have on offense and I don't believe it's all that close. We need to do whatever it takes to get the ball into his hands 15+ times a game. He just makes plays.

The WRs also played great. They caught the ball when given the opportunity, fought for the extra yards, and didn't make Dak fit it into any tight windows. They did a good job getting open and beating their man.

The O-Line continues to be very underrated. They did great in all aspects today. The run blocking is still great and the pass blocking gave Dak plenty of time to get the ball out. We don't talk enough about how well the line has been playing when a lot of us thought for sure they would be a weaker link and they have proven not to be.

This was the blueprint for how the offense needs to be ran week in and week out. We focus mainly on the run game and Dak takes what the defense gives him. I believe that playing this way is our path to success on the offensive side of things.

Look at you, growing up before our very eyes

Dak ran 3 times for 16 yards... not much in the grand scheme of things. However, for the first time in what seems like forever, Dak offers a real threat on the RPO.
He also had some rollouts, which I believe help his game. It gives him more time to find a receiver, less area to scan, and he throws without overthinking his mechanics.

100%. Run it and call short brainless passes. If we don’t get it, punt.

Moore and Dak executed the gameplan perfectly.

Except, that bubble screen has not worked for any yardage since the Buccaneers game in 2021. And that was the first play of the game.

I understand playing a tight game and not risking. But Dallas cedes third downs by using this play, which bears no fruit.

I have watched other teams use this play. But they will run tight ends out in front of the receiver to get an open running lane.

I am not a savant when it comes to offensive play calling. And I understand you have to show some things so when your real intent comes later is a play that looks similar, but is not, is required.

But I can almost call out that play before the snap. And if a fat man in a recliner can see it, the defender is looking for it.

Just my opinion.

Completely agree. Many of us have said that Prescott should only be throwing the ball circa 25 times a game to complement the offense. Take what the defence gives him. Just keep it simple with the threat of RPO. More like 2016.

Fully agree on the o line. Immense. From memory they didn't allow Prescott to be sacked. I laugh to myself when people on here continually criticise our lads up front. They obviously don't watch other teams in the league.

If the Cowboys go up early in the game and force the opponent to rely on the pass, they are really really good.

That strip sack by Micah was huge.

I’m still super anxious at the thought of playing teams with a dominant run game, but if the Cowboys play like they did yesterday, they can beat any team in the league.

When we throw screens, we leave the receiver on an island, with no blockers, and at least two defenders within 5 or 10 yards of him when the ball is thrown. I hate those plays intensely.

But...did the team bring you joy? :)

Very fair write up.
We are married to Dak with that contract, so we best figure out how to use him most effectively.
It all came together nicely against the Vikes and I sure hope that everyone learned from it.

Have all the fans of the Dallas Cowboys become accountants? You could have said Dallas used Dak effectively without mentioning the money, which doesn't belong to any of us.

And frankly, after seeing Little Anus hug his pocketbook this season like it was his last dollar bill, when has this franchise in the last 10 years really brought in a top flight, expensive free agent that has made a difference?

I see the money comments and wonder if you realize they will not spend it anyway. So on the cheap doesn't mean they would have gone out and gotten Von Miller. Or Tom Brady.

Let it go. It's done. Your girlfriend cheated on you and left you. Get over it.

He only mentioned the contract to stress the fact that Dak isn't going anywhere for a long time, so they need to continue to figure out how to get the best out of him.

Two Deep, with a cap, you always have to consider the money angle.
Its the modern NFL.

Agreed! It's like finally driving a ball onto the green, or sticking one close from the bunker. "Just when I thought I was gonna get out, they pull me back in!"
Well if it means anything, my golf game is even more frustrating to me than the Cowboys. I know, that’s saying a lot

But you’re right.. those rarely-occurring magical shots on the golf course make all the slices into woods and ponds worth it!

The money does not matter with this franchise specifically. Because they will not spend it. The premise of saving the money is one day they will wake up and become the Eagles doing a continued Samba line of free agents dancing onto the team and making it better.

Jethro and Little Anus have shown in 26 years they don't roll like that. So all the grousing about money if futile.

Okay, we all get it. Zeke and Dak are overpaid. But these two dead horses have been beaten so much there isn't even enough left for ants to eat.

His post and mine are not about the money. They're just about the fact that Dak is our QB for the foreseeable future, so we need to call plays that work to his strengths, regardless of whether he or Kellen would prefer to sling the ball around. I don't care if he's getting paid 20,000 a year. If he's the franchise QB, they need to use him properly, like they did yesterday.

Inaccurate. They have to spend it.
