Vikings game a recipe for Cowboys success

Right now, Diggs is tied for 4th in ints with 3. I would think before season is done he will have 6 to 7 ints but as you said just as important is his overall coverage has improved.

As much as I don’t believe our owner should be talking I do agree the Cowboys looked like yesterday a team which could make a push to the Super Bowl.

If we play like that we’ll definitely be a tough out. . This doesn’t mean we could still stump our toe again. And we might have to do it all on the road. But as I look around the NFC right now I don’t see any teams I can’t see us beating if we play like this.

Jimmy Johnson new Emmitt was the key so Emmitt had 340 rushing attempts every year we won a Super Bowl. With McCarthy saying 30 rushes a game he's now taking the Jimmy Johnson approach, IMO. A good coach would find out what it takes for his team to win and make sure that happens.

Cool, so 15 carries for Pollard, 10 for Zeke and 5 for Davis...sounds like a plan.
 
I feel like our success was partially due to the Vikings going by their own game plan and not the one set out by the last few teams. They abandoned the run and fell right into our strength. Other teams won't do this, even two scores down. We still need to prove we can stop the run consistently or else we'll have more GB types games than the one from yesterday.

What was your take on the recipe? We had tried playing conservatively to win with defense. That recipe didn’t work for long. In this game, the offense went crazy, taking Cook and the running game out of the equation. The high octane offense allowed us to let the pass rushers eat. The one thing I don’t like is Cook averaged 6.5 per carry before they had to pass. We can’t count on that offensive performance every week. I think there’s still some work to do defending the run.

With the current state of the Giants’ receivers, I think we will get a chance to prove we can stop the run with the Giants giving Barkley and Jones lots of opportunities. We must keep Jones in the pocket and have solid run fits vs Barkley.

I think the key to success for this team is fast starts and gaining the lead early.

Not only can we continue pounding the rock setting up our passing offense to be more effective and efficient it forces opponents to throw the ball to catch up which plays right into our strength on defense .

Key stat. We are 15-0 when leading at halftime last two seasons .

Hopefully even if Jethro makes us start Elliott we will quickly go to Pollard who must have the bulk of carries. He’s our most dangerous weapon.
