Definitely a strength of the team.

It's perhaps the most dominant unit on any team in the NFL. Perhaps the greatest collection of edge pass rushers in NFL history.

Add in Sam Williams 3 sacks and Dallas has 34 sacks just from their defensive ends. On pace for 50+. This through just 2/3 of the season.

Think about it: Back in the day where players didn't rotate much, it would be like having two ends with 25 sacks each!

We need some sacks from our DEs

I think that might go to the New York Sack Exchange of the early 80s.

There of course you are talking about combined D-ends and D-Tackles
Had to look it up:
That line consisted of Mark Gastineau, Joe Klecko, Marty Lyons and Abdul Salaam

1981, the Jets led the league with 66 sacks. I'll have to see how many of those sacks came from linebackers and secondary...Back on that later.

If the Cowboys average 3 sacks a game they will set a new franchise record.

If he Cowboys average 4.5 sacks a game they will set a new NFL record.

Currently, the Cowboys have 45 sacks. The franchise record is 62, set in 1985. The NFL record is 72, set by Chicago in 1984.

Yup. I know that both ends (Gastineau and Klecko) combined for over 40 sacks that season. Not sure about everyone else though. In fact I believe this line was the reason that sacks became an official stat.

2 years ago I would have fallen off my chair if somebody predicted that the Cowboys defense would be the best at getting to the quarterback in 2022. What a change.
Imagine all the non holding calls called and the fact offenses are trying their best to avoid throwing and running above average amount of run pays to not face this ruse, those number are far more impressive knowing how little teams challenge our Pass D.

Too bad Micah doesn't have that 13th sack that he weirdly gave up on
you mean the cousins sack, he thought the ball was gone and the way penalty's are called on QBs being hit late , he let Kirk go LOL..he truly must be having dreams about that wone..had his by the waist and let him go..

You know Belichek's petty A $ $ will make sure Judon wins sack leader this year.

If his team is butt...he will make sure to win somehow and Judon and the sack award are probably on his mind. As in...I bet he would make sure Judon got 4 sacks last game if Judon needed 4 to win...even if it was at the risk of of the defense and a win.

You HAVE to hand your hat on something, right?

Ugh

no different than Parsons coming back in against the #2 MN offense after he hurt himself?? he should have never come back in, id say that was DQ wanting to get parsons more sacks. thats stat padding at its worse.

I dont mind the players trying to go for records.

I am saying I think Belicheck would risk touchdowns/loss by calling plays for Judon so he could hang his hat on something.
