Well to go with Seagar and Semien deGrom is showing the I / 35 oilmen are putting the poker chips on the table. I really like the starting lineup and this signing goes a long way to stretch the starting pitchers who have some nice young pieces .

I hope Bruce Bochy can build a bullpen that’s where the gasoline and matches are . This to me is an instant credibility to baseball signing , 66 wins are not going to cut it .

One hell of a pickup. Their rotation and farm system for pitchers suddenly looks deep.

Now go out and get Verlander for a 2 yr deal at 40 yrs old . Stack the the top of the rotation follow them with Otto Dunning and Gray with Rocker & Leiter in the wings. Get a flag flying in Arlington the Cowboys Mavs and Stars all have champions DNA . 50 yrs in Texas no brass ring .

Good luck keeping him healthy. I have followed his entire career but it is all downhill from here……definitely not worth that kind of $$$. He will give them some quality starts and get a lot of no-decisions unless he gets at least 3-4 runs per game.

I am glad he was a Met and enjoyed his time in NY but he just isn’t the same as he was a few seasons ago. If Texas can get more than half a season from him, then they should be in the hunt. I am glad he didn’t go to LA, HOU or the NYY :muttley:

This seemed like fait accompli- is there something about coming to the Rangers (beyond the money) that he was really into??

Rangers can score runs have some pieces 1-9 in the lineup card , the starting rotation just got a nice jolt it’s the bullpen you worry about . Once deGrom hands Bochy the baseball after 6 innings or so who gets the 7 or 8 outs to close the book.

Great talent, but injured too often. If he can put injuries behind him, he could be really good for the length of the contract. He doesn't have a whole lot of innings on that arm. I agree with RW. They really need a bully. What they have only adds TNT to a fire.

Love degrom but the last few years have been terrible. One ailment, arm issue after the other. Five years with his history is stupid. Its not my money but glad the Mets did not bite at that. His press conference was a joke. He decided to join the rangers to help the winning culture? Come on Jake. You went there for 185 million dollars. 75 million over closest competitor. Save me stupid pc responses and be honest for once in your career.
