50 years ago today KISS is formed

On January 3,, 1973, ACE FREHLEY answered a newspaper ad and winds up auditioning for Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss.
That same month the name WICKED LESTER that they were known as/going by is dropped and the band becomes KISS. The rest is as Gene would say, is KISStory!

They'll always be Gene, Paul, Ace, and Peter to me. They were my favorite band as a kid. Finally saw them live when the original members reunited in the mid-90s.

Hard to believe they're still touring in 2023.

Huge fan here, least back in the day. The first 6 studio albums were great, especially Dressed to Kill, HTH and Destroyer. That being said Ace and Pete were dysfunctional and Gene and Paul did what they had to do to keep the machine rolling.

You don't know that and you are forgetting Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best are the original bass player and drummer respectively for the Beatles but you accept them being replaced just fine. So you have no real point. Bands replace members all the time and they still retain their identity. You can't make exceptions for other bands like Kiss.

It has everything to do with it. Their substance abuse was why they were ejected from the band and tarnished their legacy, that's a fact as well but you seem to place a higher priority on certain facts because it's more convenient to your lame argument.

That is true, last time I saw Kiss was 1986 and haven't bought a new release since creatures of the night. Without those two, especially Ace no interest on my part
