Broaddus on 105.3 the fan breaking down the upcoming cowboys vs niners match up. He sounds really optimistic about our chances and thinks our Oline can block their Dline and take advantage of their secondary. He also says that these guys can be run on too! After breaking down a few 9er games he says we've handled a more difficult defense in the Philadelphia Eagles and should be able to handle these guys.

Some positivity here to keep yall away from the cliffs edge.....

Don't agree with BB . If you don't help the OL, Dak will have 3 seconds to get the ball out. I'd rather chip with the TE , using CeeDee and Pollard in the slots.

In Tampa, Dak had time and more importantly, he had a solid pocket allowing him to see the field . Not going to be the case Sunday.

My biggest concern is stopping Deebo and CMC. If we can contain them then we will have a chance. I also think if Parsons and company can get to Purdy early then Purdy may get rattled. This is the game the Quinn has to earn his money. Another thing that is encouraging is we don't have knuckleheads on our team like last year.

Also someone stated in another thread that the 49ers have only beaten 2 playoff teams entering the playoffs and we beat the most teams with 6 or 7. So it's also encouraging we are a little more battle tested. Off the top of my head we've beaten, the Eagles, Giants(2), bengals, Minnesota. I know I'm missing some. I'm not sure who the 49ers beat. I know the Seahawks.

All of these are good points. Going into last years playoff game...I remember REAL football telling us exactly what the 49ers were going to do...and that is EXACTLY what they did...in a nutshell...they were the more physical team on both sides of the ball. The question is...what have we done to address that this offseason? The 49ers are STILL physical...and they added CMac. Not to mention they have added a QB that can run. We added a LG/LT in Tyler Smith that has been amazing. We've added Hankins on the DL.

In addition to that...we will be on the road. I said before the Tampa game that I think this team would be better off being on the road. The atmosphere and expectations leading up to big games at home seem to cause us to be overly anxious and get off to slow starts. Being on the road makes you laser focus and ALL business. Plus, we should have the revenge factor for what they did to us last year in front of our home fans (don't let the final score fool you, we were dominated) This is a career defining game for this core group...there is a good chance you will lose a coordinator or 2....there is a good chance Zeke or Tyron Smith or Schultz or LVE or Noah Brown or Cooper Rush...guys that have been in this program for a while will not return. The time is now.

The Eagles DL is overall slightly more talented than the 9ers.

But the Eagles don’t have a nick bosa nor do they have a Fred Warner patrolling behind them.

Not sure how BB comes up with the Eagles D being better. Statistically Philly has a better pass D and more sacks but San Fran is much better at stopping the run, generates more turnovers, gives up less points and is Football Outsider’s top rated defense.

The eagles do have a really strong DT push which I believes gives our OL problems more than edge rushers. Our center and LG seem to be less than awesome at stopping pressure coming at Daks face.

Also the Eagles has Hassan Redick with 16 sacks at LB.
Eagles also have better corners.

after 2 initials series Dak started trusting his Oline and didnt hurry his throws and waited for the WRs to get open,if the oline has a similar performance then we have a shot.

I would also say that we got more physical at TE with Ferg and Hendu. They have made a big improvement to the position.

Brown at wr, even though he struggles catching the ball sometimes, he is a very physical blocker in the run game.

McGovern is much more physical than Cw was last year, that is for sure. Tyron at RT is better than La'el was. Shame we don't have Steele...

Can't forget guys like Izzi on defense (part of the slim reapers lol)

It’s a shame we don’t have the screen game of the Cowboys of old. They would just have let Bosa fly up field with his hair on fire and then dump a pass right behind him. If he is smarter than his idiot brother, that would cool his jets just a tad.

I think BB’s perspective has merit, and at least must be attempted. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but Tyler Smith has surprisingly earned the right to be stuck on an island with Bosa. Not saying chipping with a TE should be abandoned altogether, but Dak needs a few looks with more pass-catchers in the pattern. BB IS right about the secondary – it can be had.

Note on the Eagles secondary for those who are comparing (to the 49er’s). Remember, they may be without their slot corner which would prove very big for those guys. I’ve never thought much of Avonte Maddox, but according to Philly faithful (and I’m in Philly country) he’s considered key to their secondary's success.

A far as pas rushing only, Philly is better given the many weapons they have.
Pass coverage, not sure. SF sits in that zone and makes it tough. If their pass rush gets going on a given day, it's REALLY tough and the QB is pressured into throwing passes into tight zones leading to the forced turnovers. Dallas OL has to be on their game Sunday night. Giving up a few sacks alone is ok. But you can't have all the QB hits and pressures all game.

Run D, no comparison. SF and TENN are the best in the league.

The 49ers have played 7 playoff teams, including Seattle 3 times. The won 6 of those 7 games, including beating Seattle 3 times. The lost to the Chiefs. The 49ers have played only 1 division winner though.

Dallas has played 9 games against playoff teams and won 6 of them. But the played 7 games against division winners and won 4 of them. Overall the Cowboys played a much tougher schedule.

One thing that sticks out to me is the 49ers played only 1 team that I consider a top offense. That was KC, and the 49ers defense gave up 44 points. I think Broaddus is right. I think the Cowboys, if Good Dak shows up, can score some points against them.

Note, Dak has had little trouble with the zone schemes that the Eagles DC likes to play.

I agree McGovern is better at the point of attack...CW was better on the move. We had Brown at WR last year....either way...our WRs are not physical. I agree that we are more physical at TE than last year...hopefully those physical WRs will make an impact. I know Jason Peters was old and tired....but his big body would have been good to bang against that DL early to take their legs. We simply need to make Bosa feel us. We need to dictate to Bosa how the game is going to be played...instead of letting Bosa dictate to us.

.CW was better on the move.
CW does have good movement skills but I don't think they are necessarily better than McG. On almost every play, regardless of where the play "hits", McG is generally at or near where it finishes. The guy gets upfield and continues to block. Some of our best runs this year have come when he has made block at the LOS then gotten up field and taken out other guys. He & Tyler have some pretty nice chemistry. He & TB were a little off early in the year but seem to have also gotten much better at knowing how they need to work together.

One of the first plays vs the 49ers last year was CW getting thown into Dak ...it was a problem.

Not to mention his holding call on that play or the multiple presnaps. La'el was also a turnstyle that game.

Noah played 14 snaps last year, he had 26 last game...so he is playing more and they are definitely using him in the run game more.

Bryan B is nuts. 0 way would I try to block Bosa 1 on 1. Buyer beware on listening to him. I would use 3 tights all game. We have them. USE THEM. No need getting Dak hurt.
