Kiper's opinions mean doggy doo doo.
He gets paid by agents to promote and push their clients higher into the draft. So in all reality what has Mel ever said to be the Drafts Nostradamus....
. Mel pretty much invented the entire genre of draft evaluation and was a pioneer in draft coverage appearing on ESPN's first ever live draft telecast and has appeared every year since.

The man is a living legend and institution. Have some respect.

Nothing against Bijan but this isn't 1990. RBs are a dime a dozen and great ones can be had in rounds 2 and 3. Dallas should absolutely draft a RB but not in round. We need an elite WR, CB, or DT.

Agree. The ONLY way I’m getting on board is if you tell me we’re going to use the money saved from letting Zeke / TP go to trade for Hops / Cooks.

If he is the BPA at that slot, nothing wrong with taking him.
RB will be a need if zeke is gone.
And for those who argue RBs should not be taken in the first round, With pick 26 chances are you will be drafting someone who is a 2nd round grade on your board unless he is a first that falls.
The other thing about it is you get a player ROOKIE for with a fifth year option.

I know we need to replace Zeke but if we draft a RB in the first round when we have other more pressing concerns would just be another nail in the coffin.

Then if KM is still here what is the point when he lacks any idea of how to establish and not abandon the run game

Zekes production can be replaced later on in the draft at any time

Bijan is a RARE talent. The foot quickness and instincts are unlike anything we have seen in college football for some time. His best runs remind me of Barry Sanders' running style. That Texas OL was not exactly blowing open huge running lanes either.

Picking him at 26 if the rest of your board is wiped out at CB, WR, and OL is a home run. You want to help your QB? Build a dominant run game.

Bijan is slow,he may not even goin the 2nd rd after the combine.I would gladly take him in rd 3.
Thank you. I thought it was just me but I watched a lot of his highlights and he does look slow. e takes short choppy steps when he runs. He is fast enough for college but I am not sure he has the speed needed for RBs in the NFL. I am very interested in his combine 40 result. If he doesn't run, that would be a big red flag for me.

If Bijan can fall as a first so can another position. The idea of drafting a player in 1st you have no intention of offering a 2nd contract makes zero sense. You also want to maximize the potential of getting a premium position for cheap.

You can fill the gap with a vet that will cost 1/3 of what a premium position costs + a draft pick outside of 1st.

Or you can take the BPA on your board like you did with CeeDee Lamb when he fell.

The Bills are going to get Josh Allen some backfield help. They'll jump up to take Bijan Robinson. So, the Cowboys likely won't get him anyway. We have too many holes to fill to give up premium picks to jump up and take a running back.
