FRISCO - In 2016, the Dallas Cowboys faced a classic NFL Draft conundrum.

They owned the No. 4 pick, and loved both running back Ezekiel Elliott and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

“Tags touching’ is what sources told us then of the two prospects’ position on the Big Board Inside team HQ.

Dallas, of course, went with Zeke. Ramsey went to Jacksonville, where his unhappiness led to a trade to the Rams - and to a Super Bowl title.

Now the cap-strapped Rams are admitting they must pay the piper.

Should the Cowboys meanwhile pay the price to trade for Ramsey?

The Cowboys will look to upgrade their cornerback play at some point this offseason, even with Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland locked in under coordinator Dan Quinn.

Rams Pro Bowler Ramsey has already cryptically mentioned change, tweeting that he “went out (of L.A.?) with a bang!”

I’d trade a 2nd. That’s it. Then let him shine abd trade him for a 1st in a year. He’s a year older than zeke.

Diggs is better than him now. I think Ramsey is more talented though.

Id do it for a 2nd and a 4th if he will redo his deal. Considering he has one year of guarantees left he should be motivated. One of the better CB's in the NFL

That’s exactly what you do. Extend him a few years, stretch out the cap hit. I like Diggs, but I just can’t pay him top dollar

Jalen Ramsey.... the player the Cowboys SHOULD have drafted in the 2016 draft! Taken one spot after Elliot (dumbest pick ever).

The Rams later traded TWO first round picks, and a fourth for him. Now he might even fetch more pick(s)? LOL

Look at the value of Elliot in comparison. Probably negative at this point given his 2023 cap hit ($16.72M), or dead money ($11.86M) if they cut him.

JJ: the only GM in football who values a RB over a CB.

Diggs is not worth top ten money and he will get top 5, absolutely right, but without him db becomes easily our biggest weakness.
