I seriously hope McCarthy is not going to call the offense. I want him to be a HC and focus on the overall team we all saw how horrible our time management was. Go get a good offensive minded coach and bring them in. This will just save Jerry money.

This is a good sign as far as our culture is concerned. Giants looked at Garret after 2 years and they had seen ENOUGH. If you know what you are looking at....you do not need to look at someone for 10 years to determine if they got it or not. ADMIT your mistake and cut bait...that's what real football organizations do!

i think mike has a lot of say in things.
with him calling plays...i'd expect him to bring in a qb he thinks is capable of running his offense...either f/a or draft.
i bet it'll be thru the draft.
you wanna get somebody's attention...apply pressure.
cooper rush doesn't do that.

Probably now but we all know he was forced to work with Kellen Moore. McCarthy always called plays or would have someone run his offense. This was Jason Garrett offense with a little twist. How does a new head coach comes on board but sticks with the same OC from the previously fired coaching staff?

A lot of “experts“ that are predicting the offense will suck next year. Maybe, but it gives us something to talk about now. If Moore truly was carrying Dak, maybe this is what it takes to move on from him. And maybe Big Mike knows what he is doing and this will work out.

This is a wake up call from McCarthy to Dak.
Dak won't have the option to audible away from a running play to an incomplete pass near as often next season.
Imo, this is long overdue.

and if he drafts a qb within the 1st 3 rds...it cranks the heat abit in my opinion.

Love Dak or hate him; love McCarthy or hate him…..anyone who hates this move is just crazy, IMO.
You‘ve ragged on Kellen Moore ever since he took over. Gives up on the run; offense too predictable; calls stupid plays when we need 1 yard; too many trick plays; not modern—not enough picks and bunches; Doesn’t scheme guys open. No coaching experience before this.

Now some of you hate Dak so much that you suddenly express love for Moore and call Dak coach killer. Hypocrites!

This is perfect timing for everyone.

Dallas - give the head coach total control the last two years of his contract….sink or swim his way! If another OC and his staff can’t get better out of Dak when they are responsible not only for calling plays, but coaching the system and plays, then find out now. Maybe this is what will help get rid of Dak if he falls on his face and performs like this year in a new system/new coaching/play caller. Two years and the dye is cast for Mike and Dak. Celebrate! You’ll either be happy the team moves on or happy with how the team plays.

Kellen Moore - I’ll bet he wanted this. If he hopes to be a head coach one day, it wasn’t going to happen unless Jerry gave it to him. After 3 years of great offensive production and HC interviews, even Frank Reich got the crappy Carolina job over him. He needs seasoning. He needs to prove he can make the most of his personnel somewhere else. Most importantly, he needs to prove he can get his offense to perform in the playoffs against top defenses. There are too many questions about him, about Dallas, and about his system. He knows he needs experience somewhere else in the NFL.

Good Luck Kellen, and I’m thrilled to see how our offense changes, whether drastically or subtly with details.

Playcalling is different than the offense installed. They’ll have packages of new plays like they do every year. But it’s more MM choosing different parts of the menu than getting a whole new menu.

Watching the Bengals, a lot of their formations and concepts look identical to what Dallas does. They just have better players executing.

MM said last week that there will be new wrinkles like there are every year.
