Can't we trade for Lamar?

This has been bugging me for a while. Could we not put a package together and trade for the apparently unhappy Lamar J? He will soon be signing a monster contract, Dak's will fail in comparison....we throw in a draft pick and hope Dak waives his no trade clause? Cap hit? Do the Ravens like Dak?

I am likely missing some key reasons why this won't happen, aside from the obvious.....fire away

Dak won't waive his no trade clause to play in Baltimore when he grew up a Cowboy fan.

And that would be admitting Jerry made a mistake by paying Dak, can't have that. We have to coddle Jerry's ego always.

No.

1 dak has a no trade clause. Ravens are baren of weapons in a tough afc. No one wants that qb job.

2. Why would the ravems want dak? They built the offense around lamar's abikity to run.

NO TRADE CLAUSE!!!!@@

Jerry has NO leverage. Why is this such a hard concept for Dallas fans to grasp?

I mean, I know it's cliche'd, but do you even watch football? Lamar has gotten hurt now the last two seasons, which is right in line w/ what happens to running QB's.

Doesn't look like Lamar wants them, and they seem primed for a divorce.. That being the case, they need a QB as we do, lol. That is why I mention Dak would have to waive his no trade...I would imagine less pressure playing in Baltimore than in Big D

I mentioned the no trade clause, doesn't mean Dak won't do it. We can make his life so miserable he wants out, lol. Lamar doesn't seem happy either...

They will tag lamar. They have no intention of trading him much less for dak.

I am not confident his ego isn't hurt as well. Dak is no different in terms of injuries, remember

Dak got hurt 2 of the last 3 seasons, but who's counting right when it comes to Dak?

I am aware that is the likely outcome, but considering the angst between the two parties do they want that distraction again next year? His tag figure is over $45 big ones...grasping at straws on my end I know, however..

Lamar is a running QB who is older and starting to get dinged up.

Hard pass. He’ll cost a ton.

A rookie contract can be just as valuable as an elite QB.

When the Falcons traded Matt Ryan to Indy, they carried an NFL record $40m of dead money into the 2022 season, which believe it or not saved them $9m towards the cap. $49m salary minus $40m in dead cap.

If Dallas went that route, they'd incur an $89m hit in dead cap and clearing Dak's $49m salary from the books...meaning we are looking at losing around $40m in cap space this season by cutting or trading Dak. In other words, we're stuck with the guy.

Lamar Jackson isn’t worth a ton of money and he can’t stay healthy. I’m sure he’s looking for 50 million per. He’s a great runner, but I’ve never been sold on him as a passer.

Yeah this is all that matters right here, it's not happening. It looks like in 2024 his cap hit is 40 mil vs 89 mil this coming season, maybe then but not now.

problem is he has never, ever had a WR core to throw the ball to. I know he is dinged up, but so has our guy. If healthy though, he has the skill set we badly need...I do realize this is likely not to happen, but one can hope

Correct he was a Cowboys fan since childhood and is where he dreamed of playing That clause in his contract that says no trade is iron clad He will retire as the QB of the Cowboys And will get a whole lot more dollars On his extension and it will be another no cut no trade deal bank on it
