I think Jerry no longer has that much affiliation to Dak, based on the fact he let Moore, who wanted out, go with 1 year left and not renewing any of the expiring contracts, particularly Philbin, who is a right-hand of MM. It seems like they are just making decisions short-term and the big decisions will come after next year. Jerry basically said the problem against the 49ers was QB play.

This a classic case of stating one thing, and after several people hear it, see how different the original statement was when it gets back to you

However, to be fair, MM did say he used the time off to study more of the analytical approaches and updates to league-wide schemes.
McCarthy is plenty smart though.
