I am fully aware a lot is still unknown with so many in-house fa's and a few veterans who may get cut, but what are the Cowboys top three draft priorities? Which three areas do they need immediate help in?

-Corner-Anthony Brown is a fa and is coming off off major injury. His signing was suppose to act as a bridge for them to draft/develop his future replacement. Problem is, neither of our former top 100 picks in Joseph/Wright have done so and probably have to earn their roster spots next season. Bland has been a terrific find to go along with Diggs whom many are down on, but teams rarely test him anymore due to his ball skills. Need another starting caliber corner.

-Running back-Tony Pollard is a fa and coming off of major injury, this is the year the team can finally move on from Zeke Elliot as his dead money can easily be absorbed. Zeke's career clearly has come to a end, only thing that would keep him here is Jerry's close relationship with the player. The team probably isn't going to get rid of their entire room in one offseason and we also have to factor who fits best in the west coast scheme. Everything points to keeping Pollard and letting Zeke go. The draft need is to find our next Zeke, more of a power back that excels in short yardage situations. One who can complement Pollard's game. Think AJ Dillion, Jamaal Williams type.

-WR/TE-Gallup was a shell of his former self coming back from major injury, but should be better in year 2. The 33 year old Hilton isn't expected to return, Noah Brown the team's defacto #2 receiver has probably price himself off the roster, no chance they can resign him to another 1 million dollar contract. Both our prospects in Tolbert/Semi haven't shown much of anything. As for TE, Shultz has priced himself off the roster as well, his estimated cap is over 14 million, which this franchise will not paid for an above average starter who many don't believe he is elite. Starting receiver is a huge need, go add another TE, but depth is also an issue.

-Guard/Tackle-Connor McGovern might of price himself off the roster, Tyron Smith is on he last yr of his deal and could become a cap casualty. Tyron's durability is getting worse every year, where he cannot be relied upon to play a full season. Both Tackle prospects are still not ready, Farniok replaces McGovern as the team's backup G/C. Need a future starting G/T, depending where Tyler Smith finally ends up. This player might need to start day 1 as Steele is expected to be out earlier on next season.

-Defensive Tackle-team shed their former 2nd rd pick in Hill, now they have three former 3rd rd guys still developing and none has taken that next step. As for NT, we all saw the difference with the addition of Hankins, Osa looked better, so did Lve. Hankins is an important resign, but they need to think about getting younger with more of a long-term solution. Team has never prioritize this position, but Quinn forced them to make an in-season trade for 1. Future starter within the interior is needed.

-Linebacker-a lot hinges on if the team resigns Lve, who has earned an extension. Barr isn't expected back, Clark will have an entire offseason to develop, Parsons will continue to play more Edge then as a off the ball LB, outside of these 3 nothing but unproven prospects. Everyone keeps having hope for Cox, but he hasn't done anything since they drafted him. A starter is needed if Lve departs, but the team also needs more depth in this area.

We cannot address all needs throughout the draft process and some are going to have to be taken care of with our in-house fa's and the open or trade market. If I was force to pick the three priority draft needs, I would have CB, RB, WR/TE. DT should be within the top 3, but until this franchise uses a top pick on one, I have my doubts.

I don't want to draft for need. That how we got Taco and Trysten Hill.

WR
They must add a legit #2 or #1B WR, either in FA or the draft.
- I expect them to sign OBJ and likely draft a WR in the top 3 rounds.

CB
They could manage with the CBs on the roster with Bland outside and either Lewis or Mukuamu as the Nickel CB.

DT
They could manage at DT if Hankins is re-signed and they could sign another low cost run stopper.
- Andrew Billings made 1M with the Raiders in 2022.

TE
I'm convinced that Ferguson will be as good or better than Schultz at some point.
- I don't know if that point if game 1 of 2023.
- Hendershot and McKeon were significant contributors in 2022.

OL
If McGovern gets an offer like Connor Williams last season, he is definitely gone.
- Farniok was "good enough" in the games he played.
- I expect a mid-round OG; although, I don't think they'll plan on that being their top option to start game 1 at LG.
- If they keep Tyron, then he can move to LT when Steele returns with Tyler at LG.
- Keeping Peters gives them another option at LT or LG.

LB
I expect Clark and LVE to be the starting LBs; although I think Parsons might play more LB in 2023, especially if everything goes well with Sam Williams.
- They consider LB in the draft if there is one they really like.

RB
I'll be surprised if they don't draft a RB in the top 4 rounds and likely earlier.
- There are many free agent RBs this year; although, the only chance they sign one is if Pollard or Zeke leave.

Safety
Quinn loves Safeties but I doubt the Cowboys ever draft one early.
- I hate to be the guy that proposes the annual move a CB to Safety concept, however...
- Going back to the preseason, I thought Mukuamu and Nahshon Wright should swap positions.
- I have no idea about the market value of D. Wilson.
- If Mukuamu does not play CB, then he is a candidate to replace Wilson if needed.
- They also like Bell.

DE
- An edge rusher is always a possibility, in any round regardless of immediate "need" of lack of need.

QB
- In 2022, they were going to draft a QB in the 5th round but the Commodes took him early 5th.
- I expect them to draft one in 2023, but probably 4th round or later.
- McCarthy likes to keep churning young QBs to see if one develops.

Offensive weapon has to be #1

It doesn’t matter what position

The best weapon you can get

The second biggest need is CB

After CB its DT

You know they try to cover themselves so they don’t have to pick for need.

1.QB- self explanatory.
2.OT - Waletzko,Ball, Steele, Smith and Peters all have a degree of uncertainty surrounding longevity, injury or performance. Or both in some cases. Need more insurance with high draft pick pedigree. Dallas has shown a talent for picking good to outstanding 1st round o lineman. They should continue this if the opportunity presents itself especially at tackle.
3. DT - Hankins's strong contribution showed how having a stout run defense ability in addition to an already talented group of pass rushers can take this unit from good to dominant.

Good list but you left out quarterback. The Cowboys will draft a quarterback in the first three rounds just to backup Dak because Rush/Grier are free agents. It will either be a big arm gunslinger or a running that will open the RPO game.

My list was about immediate starters, yes a developmental QB is needed.

I think the Cowboys are drafting a cornerback with the first pick and a guard with second pick. Just by looking at the tea leaves. The third round pick will be quarterback or running back.

They may not take a QB until the 6th or 7th.

I think it'll be BPA in the 1st on either side of the ball, then our traditional boom or bust prospect with character concerns in the 2nd.

My opinion and that’s hardly expert is offensive guard, RB, DL.

I think they will trade for receiver or sign OBJ. A defensive tackle is coming in through free agency and the board won’t like it.

There is still a ton of smoke linking the Cowboys with Beckham, ownership wants it to happen. Question is do they do something significant at the DT position or will they just resign Hankins?
