Inappropriate to one person is quite fine and dandy to another. Sounds like Irvin ran into a real cupcake here. them and we could now see a settlement out of court.

This is why I don't understand why people in here think Irvin has a snowball's chance in hell at getting anything. If there's no audio, how do you prove what she claims to be false? This is just standard operating procedure for the hotel.

And as others have mentioned, Irvin already made comments about not remembering and having some drinks which makes a he said she said more difficult for him

Right. But it's not a he said she said. It's a she said and he doesn't remember.

Yep. Irvin himself said the hotel claimed he said something so this was never about physical, people just assumed it was because that's where everyone's mind goes, including Irvin's when he said he didn't touch her after stating the hotel claimed it was verbal. The only thing new is that Marriott never came out and described what was objectionable. So as most of the astute observers have been saying, video is not going to prove much without audio and the witnesses really don't lend much either because they didn't hear anything beyond saying the exchange looked normal which doesn't account for a person not reacting right there and then in the moment.

not sure why people find this surprising. A case to dismiss is simply they don’t want to involve themselves in a long drawn out procedure.

Apparently, the fact Mariott doesn’t own the property is a pretty solid legal defense based on the comments I’m reading from those that do this type of thing.

It’s probably the EASIEST and QUICKEST way for them as a corporation to not have to deal with it. Do you think Marriott really cares what happened that night in one of their franchises outside them not being financially responsible. Whatever gets them out of it quickest is what them and their team of highly-paid lawyers are going to do.

Well if Marriott isn’t the owner Irving can just change the lawsuit to whoever owns it, but also then why is Marriott making these comments if they have nothing to do with it. Plus how can you call yourself a Marriott and not be a Marriott? So weird.

There is no bigger hack than Florio in all sports coverage. He has slanted every comment and article in Irvin's favor without any evidence except what he said from the beginning and insinuated that Irvin was "winning" just because of everyday rulings by a judge for evidence to be presented.

He even mentions touching, which has never been even mentioned, except by him, in this entire ordeal.

Maybe because an accusation that can't be easily proven has cost him serious present and future $$$. The burden of proof should be in her court. It's not guilty until proven innocent. At least it shouldn't be. But in this day and age....

One doesn’t even have to make harassing and inappropriate comments to get ejected from a hotel. A hotel, or any business for that matter, has the right to refuse service. There are limitations on this but if Marriott doesn’t want Michael Irvin staying at one of their hotels they can make that happen. It might not be best for business so it’s hard to say Irvin was simply skipping off to grandma’s with his basket of cookies when this big bad woman made viscous and false claims.
