-Georgia kids really put on a display, thought Nolan Smith, Broderick Jones, Darnell Washington were athletic freaks. Believe all 3 have solidified themselves as 1st rd picks and most likely all gone at 26.

-Great year for us needing a RB/TE. These classes are absolutely loaded, running back has serious depth, probably through 5 rounds, which is crazy. It wouldn't shock me to see 3-4 drafted in rd 1, which isn't the norm.

-What to do with these light weight receivers & corners? Many are under 180 pounds, which is crazy. I also was surprised, none really ran that 4.3 elite speed in the 40, despite their size. Forbes weighed the same as Allen Iverson the former basketball player at 166. I think some of these players will be taken off draft boards as very few have had success in this league with that frame. I know the modern game is different, but you still need the strength to matchup in the NFL.

-Haven't heard much on the fa front, like we normally do at the combine. Free agency will be here next week. Franchise Tag deadline, I believe is Tuesday. Pollard is our most likely tag candidate. Both Lve/Wilson could be playing elsewhere as a report came out that they are both far apart with the Cowboys. Wonder if they turn their attention to signing Bobby Wagner. They have been talking to many Linebacker/Safety prospects which suggests they don't believe either will return.

I just want to see us get out of our own way this year.

Draft for talent and don’t reach for need at the premium positions early. Draft good football players not ones that fit your “type.”

The strengths of this draft lines up great for what we need.

The good news is, the took the best player available with the Lamb/Micah picks when they weren't huge need positions at the time. Picking so late every round is challenging, but they must stay true to their board.

I’m curious to hear your opinion on the prospect of Nolan Smith being available at pick #26.

Hypothetically, if he were still there, would you take him or pass?

I think you have to take him if he's there, as he will most likely be the best available on their boards. He also plays at a valued position.

I’m torn. In some ways, it’s appealing to pair Micah with what I feel is a similar player. On the other hand, Smith is another tweener and not exactly one of the team’s biggest current needs.

I think he goes ahead of us anyway. You can never have enough pass rushers, but I agree have bigger holes to fill.

It’s just so hit or miss with us.

The Parsons pick was great, then we reeled off a bunch of picks that were consistently ranked lower on big boards the rest of the draft.

Absolutely NO on Darnell Washington in the 1st round. I am not sure I'll even take him in the 2nd round. His production doesn't match his athleticism. There will be more productive TE who's pretty athletic in the 2nd and 3rd given how deep this draft is at TE.

Since McClay has taken over the scouting, they have been very good in the draft process. Yes, some misses, but have an successful track record. Would like to see the scouts have more control, then the actual coaches, which got us in trouble in the past.

I think he is long gone by 26. Scouts aren't going to put much into his lack college production. UG lineman just dont produce splash plays. Travon Walker didnt and he went 1st overall. Smith had a very good win rate though.

When all is said and done, I think he goes top 15

Washington didn't produce, because Georgia had a future top-10 tight end starting in front of him. Brock Bowers went 63/942/7 and pretty much ate all the meat on the TE bone.

The Dawgs are starting to remind me of the 2001 and '02 Miami Hurricanes... just NFL studs stacked on top of NFL studs.

Anyway, it does complicate Washington's eval, but he's got an alibi.

Say for the sake of argument he was there and it was your call. What would you do?

Sprint to the podium and take him. You can never have enough quality rushers. Plus Fowler is a FA this year and Armstrong next. Todays strength can be tomorrow's weakness

I’m probably Washington’s biggest fan. But this is a lazy excuse that many people are using. And no, bowers didn’t start ahead of him. Washington was on the field w bowers on almost every snap.

You have too many guys going in the first round @Cowboyny - only 31 can go. All of those tes and rbs won’t be gone in round 1

I think if Washington is there at 26 and he is the highest rated player on the board you take him. He is an amazing blocker right now, and you can develop the other phases of being a quality nfl receiving tight end.
