Guess we are gonna patchwork DT yet again?

We were never going to go after Payne or Hargrave or Tomlison. Those guys were always going to be too pricey for Jerry/Stephen. Some more mid-level guys are gone with Cox going back to Philly.

We have heard nothing on Hankins. Where we pick isn't exactly going to likely be teeming with DT prospects unless we take a reach early (for those that will say, relax, we'll fix DT in the draft). So what's the plan? Just sit around and hope to pull a bunch of nobodies and such next week when they are cheap and then throw a later round pick or two at the position?

I had wondered if maybe they were just going to invest in a better MLB than LVE and hope that fixed some of their interior problems but LVE is back and Wagner appears to be a non starter. So it just seems like we are going to run this thing back with a bunch of jabronies at DT. I swear to god, this franchise's handling of the DT position is just so frustrating.

Sign Hankins and draft a true 1T early enough that you can get some production. They’re obviously not gonna spend big. They’ve done some good things, but it’s disheartening that they always seem to cut corners at DT. Although it has gotten much better since the Garrett years. That was a complete joke!

yea i'm a little annoyed by this as well. Not many FA left that'll make a huge impact and I don't trust us to draft a difference maker at DT. Each year people on this board say "wait for the draft", but we always end up with JAGs, so i'm not confident about our options as of today. Could do another trade, but guess we'll see

Still some guys out there that can help. Plus the draft. But like most fans I too will be disappointed if we do nothing. The 49ers already added Hargrave to upgrade an already better than ours line.
Some teams just value DT. 49ers. Don't be surprised if the Eagles take some DTs in this draft (or take Carter is he falls to them at 10). They too value DTs.

We do not. It's bizarre.

I actually have something called a memory and we have seen this same thing play out for multiple offseasons. They aren't even linked to any DTs, including some of the better ones.

I'd love to be wrong but my guess is they just sit back, wait for the bargain bins again and we roll into the 2023 season with mediocre to low level DTs like we have for the past who knows how many years. I have history on my side. What do you have?

This should not surprise anyone.

Russell Maryland disappointed Jerry and he has rarely given another thought to the position.

Jerry is as dumb as the average fan and thinks DT should be sack machines from the middle.

I’m thought CB was our target in round 1 but it’s looking like we’re going interior line after the SG trade.
