Looking at the running backs the Cowboys have drafted since 2014, Dallas typically looks for one weighing between 202 and 225 and ideally standing at least six feet tall. A good vertical seems to matter more to the club than a fast 40 time. There are plenty of prospects that come close and could fit here, but UCLA’s Zach Charbonnet may actually be the ideal match on paper.

Having a requirement of a 6’ RB is incredibly dumb and would venture to say not even remotely correct.
Yep. They're looking at way too small of a sample size, because we haven't picked very many RBs over the last decade.

I love Charbonnet though, wouldn't mind him at all in the 2nd. He fits in that Josh Jacobs, 2017-19 Zeke mold IMO, where he lacks breakaway speed but pretty much excels at everything else.

Correct. The best RB's are generally 5-8 to 5-10. Taller RB's quite simply have too much body to hurt. The shorter bowling ball types are the ones who generally last. The Stephen Jacksons are the rare ones.

I just looked up and a power back similar to James Conner is the comparison. Scouting report said not alot of wiggle hits the hole and defenders bounce off him. He might be the best compliment to Pollard.

Yeah, he is definitely a north-south power runner. But I would disagree with wiggle... he makes a lot of defenders miss near the line of scrimmage.

If anything, his problem is that he gets kind of Le'Veon Bell ish... stopping near the LOS and looking for a hole to squirt through. It's called patience when you have a good line and a TFL when you have a bad line, and Charbonnet had a good line.

Here's a good tape of him vs Oregon. In 5 minutes, you can see what he's about.

It’s such a loaded class. Best I can remember in like the last decade.

I honestly believe there are probably like 10 dudes that could give you 1K+ yards behind quality OL play. Just DO NOT draft one in the 1st.

Ibakanda
Gray
Charbonnet
Miller
R Johnson

5 dudes off the top of my head that could be had in mid rounds that could be studs for us for dirt cheap.

Charbonnet is one of my favorite pet cats, but there are several others that are good fits as well.
