Would you bring Schultz back on a 1-year deal?

I think either the Chargers,Texans, or Dallas gets him on the cheap. His agent really screwed the pooch this time. Guess that makes up for us tagging him last year and overvaluing him.Karma I guess.

What was the fair contract he allegedly passed on? I don’t think that is currently off the table. It was probably a team friendly deal. I don’t see a problem going with Shultz/Ferguson/Hendershot/Mckeon next season. Plus another pick would be freed up for another player or trade.

No. The young guys are better and they'll draft another one.
Great minds think alike. He is a solid player but not a difference maker. I would not have franchised him last year either.

Hes a slow TE that can't block well and catches everything. Runs great y option routes to move the chains. But thats his limit.

Gesicki just got 9 million if incentives are met. Would not pay Schultz more. Not really in favor of him using the snaps, I'd rather see Ferguson and Hendershot.

KM schemed Schultz open and he is not a good blocker.

Franchise last year was the correct decision. Prevented them from reaching for need in the draft.

would bring back at a low cost because a drafted tight end on a rookie deal would be easier to justify and there are at least 4 or 5 that are just as good or better then him

I agree, Dallas only proven TE was Shultz. I would have franchised him as well since they could not reach an agreement. Yes you pay maybe more than you want but it also protects a team without locking them into a bad deal. Now we see there is something to work with in Ferguson and Hendershot making Shultz less of a priority
