News: BTB: The Cooks/Gilmore trades make it 10 straight years Cowboys have gotten another team's 1st-rounder

Jerry likes 1st round picks, even if they were a bust lol.
Remember qb wheedon and his pretty passes ?
Yes as a backup QB, not a stater, and he played for 2 different teams also as a backup once he left Dallas so Jerry was not the only 1

2014: Rolando McClain, Brandon Weeden
2015: Darren McFadden
2016: Mark Sanchez
2017: Jonathan Cooper, Datone Jones
2018: Amari Cooper, Tavon Austin
2019: Robert Quinn
2020: Aldon Smith, Gerald McCoy, Dontari Poe, Cameron Erving, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
2021: Malik Hooker, Keanu Neal
2022: Dante Fowler, Anthony Barr, Xavier Rhodes, Takk McKinley
2023: Stephon Gilmore, Brandin Cooks

Not counting the 2023 guys, there are only about 4 guys on that list who were worth picking up.

McClain
McFadden
Cooper
Quinn
Aldon
Hooker
Fowler
Rhodes

Every single one of these players worked out fine for this team..especially for the price tag. Yall acting like every other team in the league hits on every single move they make.

A lot of barrel scraping and bargain bin shopping on that list. No shock that none of that led to a championship appearance.

Yes but jerry only signed him because he was a round 1 pick.
It was like he didnt evaluate past that fact lol.

Hooker, Quinn, Fowler and Amari were the only good ones. The rest of those dudes had single digit good games for us if any.

Dallas was in need of a backup, it is not as if Dallas drafted him nor was Dallas his last team. I know many here do not like Jerry and will try to find fault in anything he does but fact is we did not draft Weeden him and did not bring him in to be a starter.

I think you are a bit harsh. McFadden and McClain each had a good season for us before they came crashing down. McFadden rushed for 1,089 yards in 2015 while averaging 4.6 per carry. If Zeke had done that last year, he'd still be here. And McFadden's good year happened while we realistically did not have a passing game because of Romo's injury.

McFadden did ok here. He wasn’t anything special. McClain caused more problems than he solved.

Exactly, and what was he making...A million a year? Dude ended up over 1400 yards in a season where Matt Cassel was the starting QB. People here just like to *****.

That's not a terrible list if you mix in some other deals, trades, etcetera, and then your draft.

When I heard Gilmore the crafty vet with SB experience came in for a 5 . Yes. This allows Bland to play the slot where he is better suited .

And getting Dak a WR allows the draft to shape up hopefully trench friendly on both sides of the line .
