I think the challenge in taking one with a 1st is getting 4-5 years of elite play W/O giving an extension but that's next to impossible today. Keep in mind they can get a new contract after their 3rd year and you better believe their agent will monitor whether or not you plan to run him to the ground and trash him. Here's a solution IMO if you def wanna keep him for 5 years. Extend him after his 3rd rookie year with 2-years on G-money. This way, you can still move on after 5 years. You are basically playing him top dollar for his 4th rookie year and 5th-year option.

I think the Cowboys are getting away from the bell cow back. I think with Zeke gone we will have running back by committee.

The difference between taking a RB at 4 and taking a RB at 26 is significant. It’s not the same conversation. The thing about analytics is that it doesn’t account for a “top10 talent” being available at 26. It’s too arbitrary and rigid. Analytics are quantitative and ignore qualitative factors. Football is not a simple coin toss. There are way too many variables.

That being said, Robinson will not be there at 26.

One, Orlovsky thought Wentz was going to be the next Aaron Rodgers. Whoops.

Two, 7 hits and 3 good TBs is largely meaningless to me because when you look at the list, how many had real team success? Not many. Having an elite TB is not needed to win a SB. If anything, it kind of hamstrings a team because you had to pour resources into the position when you could have used them elsewhere and still gotten a quality running game with mid-tier acquisitions.

Three, trading up for a TB would be positively idiotic.

Pretty much.

Win now and go up to get Jalen Carter

If he's there at 26 YES if not I wouldn't give up more than a 4 to move up. Also like Miller TCU or Izzy Pitt in the 2nd or 3rd round.

We're going to need a running back with Zeke gone and Pollard recovering from a serious injury.

A lot of people are saying Dallas should draft Bijan if he is there at 26. Not many at all are saying the team should move up to pick Robinson earlier.

I think it would be a mistake if we draft Robinson. Great player but is he so much better then Pollard/4th round draft pick? When we could draft a tight end, defensive tackle and guard with the first 3 picks. I hope the Eagles take him at 10.

Maybe but this thread is about Orlovsky's tweet and in the tweet he said they should move up and get him. That's dumb.

Get one of the two top OG and Tyler Smith can shift to LT when Tyron gets hurt. 2024 cut Tyron or let him be the swing tackle. We set our line in and draft a RB in the 3rd round.
