A couple fa LB's still out there who can help

I'm disappointed to see Bobby Wagner signing a 1yr 7 million contract with the Seahawks, think the Cowboys could of easily met his demands. Looking at what is left in the market, there are still a few interesting names remaining:

-Rashann Evans
-Miles Jack
-Zach Cunningham
-Kyle Van Noy
-Deion Jones
-Cory Littleton

Think all on this list can match Barr's lost production and allow the Cowboys to not force Clark into the starting lineup. At this point in fa, their prices will come down and probably sign 1 yr prove it deals.
force ?? how do you know with a full TC, healthy, and a year of experience, Clark doesn't outright win the job. the coaches have better idea and we will know during PS if they make move for VEt like we did with Barr, how they feel about Clark.. i don't think any more FA moves are happening until after the draft and some after we glimpse players in action in TC.

those are players available now but could be there later, also more cuts to happen post draft and cut down dates,

Yes, they don't want to be forced to use Parsons off the ball if Lve did go down again. Draft class isn't great, makes sense to add a low cost veteran to fill the need.
Where do they plan to play Parsons...

DE
DLaw
Armstrong
Fowler
Sam Williams
Takk
- (Maybe. Has been a legit NFL starter.)
Draft (Quinn working out DEs at Pro Days)

LB
Vander Esch (Injury history)
Clark (Injury history)
.
Special Teamer Jabril Cox
Gone Barr
Gone Gifford
PS guys that have done minimal in the NFL

Its a good list actually and was surprised to see some names still available, so thank you for this update.
Wonder what happened to Cunningham, still only 28 and put up good/solid numbers early in his career, but has fallen off the cliff now.
Isn't he the guy everyone wanted to draft here?

Which will result in a guy we never heard of

They did use Parsons more off the ball in obvious run downs against the 49ers. You have to think, the majority of his snaps will be rushing the passer. Certainly can use another veteran type like a better version of Anthony Barr.

Parsons

2022: 13.5 sacks playing primarily at DE.

2021: 13 sacks playing primarily at LB.

That is very interesting, think off the ball keeps him more fresh. Last yr, our run defense had more struggles in outside containment by our ends, wonder if Parsons played a role in it.

When he pass rushes as a LB, envision a 3-4 when 1 OLB rushes and one drops in coverage except the one dropping in coverage is really a 4-3 type off-ball LB.

Occasionally they would drop a DE into shallow zone coverage to just have 4 pass rushers. Often that was a DE lined up at DT in obvious passing situations.

Quinn does not stay the same every year. He is known to make scheme changes from year to year. Similar to Belichick in that regard.

Quinn went into last season hyper-focused on being a dynamic pass rushing defense. After giving up 240 and 207 rushing yards to the Bear & Packers, he made some scheme modifications. Much more read and react by the DL and much less stunting.

Also, he changed LVE from a stack and shed LB to run and hit LB. Similar to a DL 2-gapping vs 1-gapping. It's the reason fans/media believe that LVE in his 5th season and with no change in health/injury status magically went from "sucking" to playing really well.
