Damone Clark - 2023 version

Damone Clark was rated as a potential 2nd round pick, but dropped in the draft to the 5th round since the NFL discovered a medical issue during the combine. This year, there is another draft prospect that was a potential 2nd round pick, but blew out his knee at the NFL combine, and is likely to drop in the draft. The Cowboys are bringing him to Dallas as one of their 30 prospect visits. His name is Andrew Vorhees, and he started at Guard for USC for many years. Look for the Cowboys to try to repeat their 2022 strategy by trying to select Vorhees in the 5th round, and let him sit for a year while recovering from ACL reconstruction.
He would be a solid day 3 gamble. Might compete for a starting LG slot in 2024

But clue me in doesn't he remind you of the OL we drafted from Marshall last name Bell

Only way I am ok with them drafting Vorhees is if he agrees to change his first name to Jason.

I'm all for that move, good to hear Voorhees is in for a visit.

Heck, he might pull a Terrance Steele and get back early, really pulling a Damone Clark by playing when we thought it was a given redshirt year.
Put him on the practice squad and let him heal.

I think they go ol and rb 1st and 2nd round. Flipped in anything. I also can see us trading our one to pick up another second and third.

Jerry Jones, ever the gambler.

When it comes to team building, other GM's try to get smarter. Jerry tries to get luckier.
in the 2nd, yes, in the 5th why not?? jeez its 5th most teams with comp picks have many extra low round picks to use on flyer for payer like this. Jerry not he only one that done this..even taken a hurt payer in the 2nd or 3rd on potential.

remember Willis McGahee was supposed to be top 5 pick destroyed his knee in the playoff game in last college game like Jaylon, drafted 23rd overall, sat out year like Jaylon then put up 8500 yards and 65 Tds in the nfl

Its almost a certainty if they dont use a 2nd rounder on him.

This isn’t a reach like we did for a LB a while back is it.
Hard to reach in 5th round lol
But I get your point
To me outside the top 3 rounds it’s fine to take a risk, maybe even in 3rd if the reward is really high. I just don’t like taking risks in the top 2 rounds like the one you mentioned

I would be up for using a late pick onVorhees. No earlier than a 6th. He was already seen as an early day 3 prospect before getting injured. Not exactly like the Damone Clark situation but somewhat similar.

he predicted in the 5th
yep and I wouldnt be shocked if they blew another 2nd round pick on him. That is typically the throw away pick on the guy that drops for injury or attitude.

I missed the "if" in your post and thought it said "it's almost a certainty they don't use a 2nd rounder" as an argument against his post. my bad.
