26. Dallas Cowboys - Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

Exit: Dalton Schultz. Enter: Michael Mayer. Dallas shouldn’t overthink this if the opportunity presents itself. Mayer is a fine blocker who won’t blow you away with athleticism but was nevertheless a prolific pass-catcher at Notre Dame, with 138 receptions across the last two years.

Mayer has a high floor. He looks like he would be a solid player.

He does seem like the Cowboys kind of TE. He could replace Schultz as a receiver his rookie year and be an upgrade as a blocker.

Doesn't stretch the seams though and I'm jealous of teams like the Chiefs and 49ers who have TEs that do.

I'd be ok with it, although I would rather have the fast playmaker TE. This class is pretty much the good hands sound mechanics and decent blocking pack of TE without any real elite athletes.

Could see Green Bay, Washington and San Diego drafting him in the first. Will be the first tight end drafted.

I hate taking a tight end in the first round. I still have nightmares from David LaFleur however, this dude seems legit.
138 catches in two seasons a lot of which were in traffic a very good yac guy as well.

Part of me wants this guy and part of me wants the defensive tackle that Barstool has the Giants taking.

I would be 100% ok with this.

He is basically a safe bust proof player I would have no problems taking. He's a 10 year career guy with pro bowls ahead of him.
Hardline if you took Mayer at #26 than what in 2nd round for me OL

nope i hate draft for floor in the 1st round

3rd and later fine

1 and 2 i want upside

Hard pass.

He may be good but nothing about him screams special and if I draft a TE in round 1 you have to really have some special traits.

He could be another Coke Kmet. Nice player but don’t waste a first on them.
