I don't get the lack of love for this guy. We have Pollard; we have Jones. That's actually a nice 1-2 punch. I'm not even certain we need another RB with Malik Davis and Dowdle on the roster.

In 2020, Jones had 975 yards at 5.1 YPC on 192 carries.

With Cooks, on the other side of Lamb, it's going to be hard for teams to stack the box on us too much, so I could see Jones having a similar year to 2020.

Coaches like to have guys like Pacheco win the job because it motivates the team to work hard. I'd say Rojo is maybe even a little more talented than Pacheco, and could have easily more yards than him for us this year.

In 2021, Pacheco had 170 carries for 890 yards at 4.9 yards YPC.

Could drafting another back in 2023 be overkill?

I liked Ronnie Bull with the Bears after a Hall of Famer was drafted and he was moved to fullback...(he was an All American with Baylor)

We should be talking not functional but big play maker here.

Something about not producing for two years in backfields that weren't loaded with talent has me uneasy. He's on his third team in three years and we don't know what he has left. If he can return to form, he's a nice, cheap addition....but I'm not betting the season on it. Bringing in a young horse is a necessity IMHO.

Ronald Jones is a career backup RB, has suffered injuries and produced extremely low numbers the past two years (2022: 70 rushing yards; 2021: 428 rushing yards). Way worse numbers than Zeke by far!!! That's why he's getting no love so far......and shouldn't.

As long as he's a team player, I'm rooting.

He’s a scrub at best.

And Tony is UFA again.

Cheaper to draft an elite RB.

I think it just depends on how the draft unfolds and you want to upgrade in talent when you can

I dont mind taking nearly any position with the first pick, peeps get too hung up on Round vs Slot.
If one of BR or Gibbs is sitting there, they are your two dynamic backs that come with assurances to be active and involved the earliest out of this entire RB class, and then the 2nd tier come into play, that has very nice prospects as well.
There is no need to reach for a RB in this draft, but neither BR nor Gibbs would be reaching.

Camp fodder and cheap insurance policy if he shows anything.

Not if he's Robinson or Gibbs. Keep Jones as the 3rd back and a change of pace.

in 2020 he did that. its going to be 2023. what was his out put in 2021 and 2022.

Hes a RB...he hasnt set the world on fire and pretty much is seen as average as they come

thats no knock on him but no ones going to fall out over him....but i hope he does well for us

Jones can do EXACTL what Zeke did and probably do it better. But its still not good enough. You need another good back to team with Pollard.

I’m gonna be honest…I completely forgot we signed Ronald Jones. I think that’s more for insurance in case they don’t address RB early.
