Cowboys 6th round picks

Definitely better than the 5th by a wide margin. Up until this year the 5th has been a black hole. We have actually been pretty successful pulling starters out of the 6th
Yeah there’s no doubt the 6th round has been better. Interesting know why?

Arguably better than the 5th round

Going back to 2018:

5th
6th
DaRon Bland
Donovan Wilson
Mike White
Cedrick Wilson Jr.
Damone Clark
Israel Mukuamu
John Ridgeway
Quinton Bohanna
Matt Waletzko
Devin Harper
Simi Fehoko
Chris Covington
Michael Jackson
Joe Jackson
Bradlee Anae

I actually have some hopes for Devin Harper. He is athletic and runs well. His issue was that he needed to play the position and learn. I liked the pick last year.

It’ll be interesting to see how much he’s improved since last summer.

Wilson has been great.

The problem is the other picks. Oh, I like Mukuamu, too. He's solid and eager to learn, so I love the player. Wilson proves you can find talent in those rounds. Bland, as well. You just have to really pay attention to the players you're scouting.

I've gotten through some simulated mock drafts feeling like I had 7 guys who could play a role on the 53 somewhere where an opening exists...and that's what the team has done in the past, barring injuries to guys like Waletzko, who we still haven't even seen, and Clark, who we saw in limited amounts.

McCarthy is looking for players who can do 2 things. So I try to look for players like that too.
