ESPN Draft Buzz 4/26/23

Agreed. Defensive coach, get the one true defensive stud. That high up, investing in the wrong QB is wayyyy worse than not having one at all. They'll be set back for years with the wrong QB at 2

I do agree, and not sold on this class compared to the 2020 draft class. However, I'm sure Washington in hindsight is kicking themselves not taking Herbert(over analyzed QB) over Young. Injuries or not to Young, they missed out on a potential franchise QB.
Definitely a tough choice for the GM. Swing and miss, you will be shown the door in a few years either way.

I love the idea of Forbes and Diggs, though I'd rather have Porter Jr.
We have tons of tackling linebackers and safeties, it's good to blend that with some ballhawks who play
the position with confidence.
Diggs and Forbes at CB with our average undersized DTs and glass at LB in LVE is a great recipe for a great defense, LOL

Pretty sure Forbes is going to be out.

It’ll likely be Avila, Gibbs, Mayer or McDonald. These four are carrying the most steam with McDonald and Gibbs leading the way.
Mayer is ridiculous imo but like @RS12 said, it's whatever. Whoever they pick I'll cheer and hope I was wrong about them

Mayer, Ringo or a G are worst
case scenario for me.

BR / Gibbs - hate RB in the first but we’re getting a playmaker

Kincaid - don’t like TE in the 1st but at least we’re getting the most natural receiving one that can stretch the field.

For me, I don’t value RB or TE. But we need an additional big time playmaker to get to that next step. Gibbs gives them that juice to get past SF and Philly.

Not so fast my friend.

I don’t either…I’m just trying to prepare myself to be positive if it doesn’t go my way.

For me, it’s BPA at a premium position. Soooooo many players I’d be happy with and could get on board with.

The ABSOLUTE right play for Houston is to take the stud edge rusher and keep yourself in the Caleb Williams sweepstakes.

You’re probably still in it anyway if you take Stroud then you’re passing on a potential top defensive player in the league.
I agree.
Fwiw, I think both Williams AND Drake Maye might be better than any QB in this draft.

I dont either was referring to Broaddus rhinking Gibbs isnt there guy at 26.
Sorry! Reading comprehension on my part lol!

Broaddus is typically good. But he’s hot and cold this year.

Said we would prefer Avila, then it was Mayer then Kincaid over Mayer etc

Gibbs wont be our first choice but there can be a scenario where they cant trade down and he the best player left.

I think if slot of guys are off their board they’ll go Gibbs. Everyone on a one year deal. I can see getting Gibbs late to have the 5 year deal.
