Realistically, how many do you think make this team? I’m hoping for 1-2 gems and if we can hit on 2-3 of our picks, this team is going to be considerably improved

Not too many.
FB if MM decides to keep to keep one.
Maybe 1 OL and 1 LB for ST's. And that is pushing it.

Most will be PS players if that.

They most likely keep all the draft picks, or most of them. They usually do.

I heard we got a very physical RB that’s a good blocker and seeks contact when running the ball. If he is good in pass protection we may not take Elliot back for even a cheap contract. But I still think he comes back. We need experience. When Pollard got hurt Elliot was also dinged up and we had Malik padded up and could have played but apparently they didn’t trust him with the ball. Can we carry 3 RB and a FB during games. Not sure if thats the normal or not.

My guesses now:
TJ Bass
Luepke
Land(LB) With Gifford gone, and Cox not active/no special teams he has a shot if he can outshine him there.

Land is very undersized. Would love him to spend a year on special teams and bulking up.

I would put Bostick over Bass. Richards likely slides to guard, and Bostick learns the swing.

Bass likely goes PS.

More than one draft report(s) speculate that Land could play as an off-ball LB.

Funny thing is, the Cowboys have historically added good UDFA's to their team. They've had some good ones

One or two sounds about right.

I'm super high on Luepke. Traced a thread via Google from February and all the dudes here seemed to think he could've been drafted.

Yeah after a few years people are wondering how these guys could go undrafted.

Hopefully not many. Pray for 1 gem from the bunch, maybe churn a practice squad spot or two with players who still haven’t flashed, and keep developing the upside players you found in previous years.

This isn’t a zero sum game. We still have players we knew needed patience and development. I would much rather see growth from players we have been developing than start fresh with a new crop every year. I don’t think the latter speaks well to our developmental capabilities.

That’s likely his calling as an off ball linebacker, IMO.

He doesn’t have significant snaps at off-ball LB or in coverage. So he will need to learn it.

But Bucky Brooks said it best, “Sack production translates in the National Football League. Isaiah Land has an opportunity to be a really outstanding pro — might be underrated coming into the league.”

I'm surprised no kickers were picked up. But maybe low demand/competition at that position means no rush is necessary.

I think Ball is going to be gone. Probably hasn’t been that long but seems like we have been waiting for Ball to develop for years..

You may be right. I think if he can show something at G, he will buy more time. It’s only been a few years and he did have a pretty crazy college career. He was considered a solid prospect, so hopefully the light bulb turns on.

Looks like a legit Cowboys list…..no QB and no kicker needed

maybe we can get Bernie Kosar and Morton Anderson off their couches..
