Why Dawand Jones fell in the draft

That's why I dropped him an entire round. If I knew about the NBA comment I would have dropped him further.

During the draft show.
Broaddus or Bobby said that he was overweight, did not lose weight going to the combine.
When teams went to his pro day he would not weigh in or workout. They said one scout said the kid had to pushing 400 lbs at the pro day and just walked around in a sweat suit while the other players when through the drills.

He was red flagged for medical issues.

One of the local Dallas sports media people had a list of medical/injury issues for Jones.

He missed at least one day of Senior Bowl practice with an injury issue.
I love how you guys will throw the red flag around for him but Shoemaker and Laporta were just fine with 4 surgeries each. LOL!

He came out and said this was complete BS, he never said any of that.

The guy is 400 pounds. Who is Shoemaker? The Cowboys drafted Schoonmaker.

Probably some smoke to that rumor considering his fall.

I never quite understand guys coming to the combine or pro-days overweight. This is your one chance to show teams you are worth being picked higher and not only receiving a bigger paycheck but more of it guaranteed.

What the heck is a schoon and will this be a distraction for him during his pro career?
It's a Dutch word which translates to clean, beautiful, and fair. One can only hope he focuses more on football than cleaning and polishing everything. Time will tell.

Huge red flags there!
:omg:

The NBA thing is wild lol.

I don't doubt that there are a lot of NFL players who would rather play in the NBA (or MLB, PGA, whatever), but that's a crazy thing to admit in the draft process.
