they are the jones boys ! they are so smart and work 24/7/365 so us ordinary humans cant expect to understand what they are doing !

But actually this is one of many reasons they always fail somehow. They do some good, then just let off the gas and think that is enough lol.

I think on the working 24/7/365 , that they confuse working and just being alive and piddling around :muttley:

they are probably out looking for a microphone and someone to talk to rather than continue their job of team building.
As long as the money rolls in by the truckload, they have little incentive to change things.

:(

I don’t know what they’re waiting for. Or what the plan is at kicker. It’s looking more and more likely that they’ll scramble to pick up a spare after another team cuts one.
I don't know either. It would make sense to pick one up so that you have an option, and then pick up a different one if a better option comes along. Having just Vizcaino is not a plan.

Kickers are so about form that waiting and seeing who is hot when makes sense.
If you aren't paying a top 5 guy and paying him well you might as well scramble drill it.

Any QB is pointless right now as you really like the 3 you have, 1 of which is likely headed to the PS.

the LB can probbaly find a better option than Dallas which is loaded with go forward, attacking LBs and needs an offball roamer.

and are they bringing him back?

I would say missing 4 XP in a playoff game drastically changed the playcalling and trust for the coaching staff.
Probably still better than paying Greg Z top of position money to miss important kicks and go 35% from 50+ for 2 years straight.

I truly do not understand their position on Maher. Looking at his 2022 numbers, he’s clearly better than the vet names being thrown around. The tools are there with him. They just need to work on a course correction to the league’s ridiculous in-season rules change.
100 :hammer:

They are being a tad arrogant/stubborn with their approach to the Kicker position.
stubborn first off like stash said, UMM Maher is a proven NFL kicker over 90% the past 1.5 seasons and a booming leg and great kickoffs, one bad game and you all want a worse kicker, right.. confidence lol he made the kicks in the SF game.. hes better than anyone mentioned, so he deserves a shot to compete for the position.

man the expert Gms in here just know it all 24-7

Pita Taumoepenu, LB, Vegas Vipers

Taumoepenu was simply a beast for the Vegas Vipers this season. He was voted the league’s Defensive Player of The Year and amassed some impressive numbers on his way to doing so. In 10 games of action, Taumoepenu collected 24 tackles and 6.5 sacks and was the heart and soul of the Vipers defense.

John Parker Romo, K, San Antonio Brahmas

We heard John Fassell talk last week about the fact that anybody and everybody is up for consideration for the kicking job. The Cowboys kicking situation is a huge question mark right now, and with such uncertainty on just who will man the spot, the Cowboys may look to an already warm leg to come in and compete.

John Parker Romo was excellent for the Brahmas this season on his way to being and All-XFL Specialist selection. Romo finished 17-19 on the year while having his longest made kick in the leagues history from 57 yards out while being a perfect 7-7 in the 40-49 yard range.

Jordan Ta’amu, QB, DC Defenders

Jordan Ta’amu, fresh off an XFL Offensive Player of the Year award and a championship game appearance, is an intriguing prospect that may be worth the Cowboys taking a look at. This season Ta’amu was able to put up impressive numbers for the Defenders where he threw for 1,878 yards, 14 touchdowns in the air, while completing 62.6% of his passes. He also rushed for three touchdowns and 301 yards on the ground in the 10 game season, proving to be a dynamic QB in the XFL.

I'd love to get Taumeopenu at LB in camp. I think he'd make a lethal piece of LB depth for us. As for the kicker named Romo, why not? I want him and the kicker for the Philadelphia Stars.

they haven't fully, have they? we wont know but that how they felt at the end of the year, a new game played, i missed? they do NOT have a kicker comp going YET do they? i miss something??

the fact they haven't rushed to fill the spot says hes still in play.. my bet a wake up call for him to go get he XP issue resolved, mentally. he didn't not miss one in the SF game. Period ONE BAD game by any payer isn't a career ender. especially with recycled kickers. they like BU QBS have 9 lives..

They’ll overcompensate next year and use a #1 on a kicker.. or sign a liquored up kicker to a big contract..
Nah the zone will be happy, we will find the gadget QB ie new starter than also punts and kicks to save money, ala Danny White, that's how the Zone perceives the jones', 3 for 1 SJ special.

Stephen already mentioned they were moving on from Maher.

The only have one kicker on the roster (Tristan Vizcaino) and he's not even listed on teh Cowboys website.

No worries though, the other 31 teams have already secured the top 60 or so kickers in the world for their 90-man rosters. We should be just fine waiting for someone else's garbage. It's not like kicking helps you win games or anything.

OK queen of the south..drama queen for sure. Nobody secures 60 for the season. the season all that maters and many will be available. there are 3 great kickers ie elite the rest are all pretty much the same. FACT
