CBS Sports: Donovan Wilson could miss rest of training camp, entire preseason

Not ideal, but not severe either. Gives some other guys time as there’s a lot of depth there and they need reps.

He’s a vet so as long as he’s back by week 1 and the calf doesn’t linger this shouldn’t be too bad.

Not good. Don’t expect him to be much of a factor the first half of the season. Thank goodness we have Kearse.

I wouldnt play a soul in the preseason more than 2 series unless theyre fighting for a roster spot
Guys battling for jobs need to play. Some fans don’t want Mazi to play in preseason but he’s a rookie and needs the work. We can’t just hand him the starting job because he was our first round pick. If he’s going to be a good player, he has to go out there and earn it. He needs to get acclimated to the NFL. He’s going to need some preseason snaps.

First of all not one person in here is a doctor second of all it says multiple week it is not more than a five week heel time for most of these I mean how many weeks did Prescott miss with his strained calf I don't think it was very long.. These are precautionary things it'll be week to week but I guarantee he's 100% ready and it will not linger into the season because none of these have unless it's a tear and he needs surgery then they would have already said that.. Why do people overreact to injuries when someone says it's week to week and then they say oh there goes nine games of the season like they have some kind of clue to what severity it actually is. As long as it's not season ending and if it's deemed week to week he will be here game one..

Hamstring for Mukuamu. This means we can actually see if Joseph is a safety.

I think Bell will be the main recipient of playing time, as he can play either free or strong, and perhaps Coyle. Joseph would be more of a free safety but primarily expect to see him at nickel corner. He could get some of Mukuamu's snaps, though.

The silver lining to the injury is that it isn't deemed a "serious" issue, and Wilson is expected to be back in action in time for the Cowboys' Week 1 contest against the New York Giants on "Sunday Night Football."
Dodged a bullet. Gives depth extra time. Not necessarily a bad thing.

I never said he’d miss games. I said he won’t be much of a factor with a nagging injury. Why do people always overreact to other opinions? Do opinions that differ from yours make you insecure?

Being dumb and careless is a sure fire way to not win a SB.
I think not playing PS...and just jumping into the season is a good way to get injured too.

Granted...injury can happen any time any where. And pro athletes should be at the top of their game always, right?

But..."game speed". Not saying they have to play every down.

Because like I said Prescott had a strained calf, he missed one game in 2021, so it was a two week injury whether it linger or not it didn't seem to affect him that much.. this guy has five weeks before the start of the season, maybe 6.. so that's four times the amount of time.. I'd say he's going to be 100% and it won't linger.

I believe you were the one that overreacted to the injury report itself saying it might go half a season before he feels better, I think that's a major overreaction.

I agree he’ll be back week one. But DW’s game is built on explosiveness and a nagging calf can take that all away.

I think Kearse will need to make a bigger contribution early in the season while DW fully heals. As we’ve discussed in this thread, calf injuries linger. Dak was awful after his calf injury.

We have 5 or 6 other safeties on the roster. Hooker, Kearse, Bell, Coyle, Thomas. Now they’ll probably sign 1 or 2 camp bodies.
