I can’t be the first one to bring this up but it seems so odd they do this. And also more strange there’s no rule on it considering there’s a rule for everything

I don't get it either, but its not contained to football. A lot of baseball players have chains jangling and bouncing when they are running / batting.

Same reason some guys wear a bunch of eye black or have arm bands or tattoos - personal flair and helps their self confidence I'd assume.

It is a flex.
Another form of intimidation.
I'm rich and you are a broke boy.

Goes for other sports as well like baseball.

I personaly hate it and shouldn't be allowed imo. Can't really explain it but for some stupid reason it bothers me. No idea why but it just does lol

Maybe cause when I played sport nobody was allowed to wear anything

They think people are impressed by their bling. It's like they're intentionally trying to show off their wealth. There needs to be much less of the "look at me" in professional sports.

The common people like us don't watch the games to see all the expensive jewelry, we just want to see the players do their thing. But hey, if they want to wear a 100k necklace out onto the field so be it. I'm going to laugh at their dumb arses when it gets ripped off the neck and is either lost or destroyed.

We'll just wheel out a trash can full of dirt out there to shut you down!

In service we had to wear kevlars and keep heads down. I won't show remorse when there are stitches involved...

It's superstition mostly. Guys feel like the trinkets bring them good luck. We all know there is no such thing but there is no more superstitious creature on Earth than an athlete.
