Jerry Jones talks about WR CeeDee Lamb’s contract situation

Like I've been saying, he's not signing until next year at the earliest. There is no incentive for either side to do it right now.

We need to understand that there's a non-zero possibility that he plays his 5th year, gets tagged, and doesn't have a new contract starting until 2026.

I like Lamb as a receiver but, like, what is he actually exceptional at? Is he a $28-30 million a year player, or will that end up looking like a mistake in three years?
He absolutely devours man coverage. You cannot cover him without brackets.

He's also excellent at the catch point in contested situations - although sometimes his effort in that regard leaves something to be desired.

It's always a possibility, however, I think we felt it more in trading Amari Cooper than we did in signing Cooper. I think you would probably feel a very similar gap year where the WR group just felt incomplete if you moved on from Lamb, even if you spent a high pick on a receiver.

Maybe that ole John Matten saying that you have to your big-money WR involved early, otherwise he'll drift on you.

There will be at least two or three big contracts falling off the books in that time span to create cap space - Tyron, Lawrence, Martin.

Cee Dee changes the way teams defend the cowobys with his speed and agility . He opens up space for the run game and TEs and other receivers. He cannot be covered one on one , and his hands are elite. Did not see any drop off from moving away from cooper because cee dee is actually a better receiver overall.

Thank you. Well said

Typical Cowboys deal so yes it won't look good in three years, he'll miss a full season to injury we know this

There is much incentive so you can spread the money out. I highly doubt he returns to camp next summer without a new deal. It's beneficial to both sides.

CeeDee should be holding out right now. I can't believe he is actually playing. He is a boss and deserves a massive pay bump. I believe he plays for his legacy unlike most chumps these days. I would have rewarded CeeDee long before that turd Diggs. For this of you who say there is no incentive for CeeDee to get an extension that is madness. He should lock up life time money ASAP. No one know for sure what the future holds.
